Those deals happen quite a bit in the NBA. But you can't use the dollar amount to compare when each league has a different salary cap. A $40 million contract in the NFL is about 14% of the salary cap. A guy like Schröder was just traded for like 12% of the salary cap and the Pistons took back zero salary. Very different dollar amounts, but very similar salary cap percentages. Quote

He is just as responsible for what happened out there as KD was. Quote

The NFL cap is hard, and getting under the cap is the reason for a lot of trades in the first place - there are no exemptions to keep your own players, so for those teams, taking salary back is the last thing they want to do as it defeats the objective of the trade. Also, since there are 6 rounds in an NFL draft and a decent GM will get good players out of 3,4 or even 5, you get more trades for just picks with no player (or salary) on the other side at all. Deleterious Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 Looks like they removed all of the dumb 23 stuff. But this is the house Jordan had been trying to sell outside of Chicago for over 10 years. $105,000 for a 7 day rental. I wouldn't even if I could afford it. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 10 Author Posted July 10 OK, they obviously wanted to announce it on their own day, which makes sense. Funny how they report this deal could reach $287 million but reported Chet's as just $250 million. They are identical contracts. Both could reach $287 million, even if Chet seems less likely. Quote
casimir Posted July 11 Posted July 11 He's an NBA player now. He probably needs a load management day off. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 11 Author Posted July 11 Multiple articles today about how Lebron is unhappy. I would love if the new owner called a presser. Then announced he isn't that concerned with how Lebron feels since this will be his last season playing with the Lakers. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted July 11 Posted July 11 The Buss family should have done a one hour primetime special on ESPN announcing who they are selling the team to. 2 Quote

Deleterious Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Just looked at Cleveland. They could do it for Garland and Ball plus draft picks. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Retire and don't play basketball next year. Play for Denver. Get Denver to release you and/or buy yourself out of the contract. This isn't complicated. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted July 14 Posted July 14 Why would teams be calling a player's agent about their availability in a trade instead of the team? I say silly things some times. Quote
