Verlander and Ichiro were both on the AL team. haha I just went and double checked, Verlander gave up a triple off a weird bounce(1:09:30 on the 2nd video), and Ichiro hit the HR off one later in the game. I give myself somewhat of a pass for mixing that up but should've known that Ichiro was on the same team since he basically played his entire career in the AL. IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 11:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:48 PM Five runs would do it. They’ve done it before. They have embarrassed my embrace of fatalism numerous times. Quote
Tigermojo Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Can't win 'em all but they do win a lot of them. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Loss. The Rays won this game. The Tigers didn’t lose it. I guess. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM No shame in winning a series against a team in a wild card spot. Our bullpen let up down today. One step forward, two steps back. Quote

I will often refrain from commenting during a bad outing, lest I sound like TP Fan in Lions game threads 😀 1 2 Quote

lordstanley Posted yesterday at 12:05 AM Posted yesterday at 12:05 AM Tigers lose. Fine. You have to throw the rest of the American League a bone now and then. 1 1 Quote

IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM The audio in AJ‘s Detroit-based post game remarks is truly awful. I noticed when they were on the road the audio was normal. I don’t know why they can’t fix this. Quote

My son pays for it and I like to watch the Foundation series which will be out soon, but that’s about the only thing I’ve watched on it aside from a couple other series. Quote
IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM Posted yesterday at 12:14 AM Studio on Apple TV was really good. It’s amazing how they managed to make studio execs characters you could empathize with, sort of a “sympathy for the devil” kind of thing. Quote

IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM Posted yesterday at 12:35 AM In terms of “scoreboard watching“ the White Sox won today and the Royals, the Guardians, and the Twins are all leading in their respective games. Quote

IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM Posted yesterday at 01:45 AM The Guardians have righted their leaking ship and are still leading the Astros in the seventh 2–0. Quote

IdahoBert Posted yesterday at 02:34 AM Posted yesterday at 02:34 AM Every team, but the Tigers, in the Central won today with collateral damage occurring at the expense of the Blue Jays and the Astros, both of whom we need to see fall. We still have envious leads over everyone, so aside from the Tigers losing it was a tremendous day. Quote

Although I chide Todd Jones I want to reiterate that I like him. He is a part of the lore of this club. My understanding is that Ernie loved him. I also understand that he’s a huge baseball fan who immersed himself in the history and lore of every team he played for because it was important to him and to the fans for whom he performed. In this sense he’s one of us, only he happens to actually have been a player too. Quote

Today, the peasants revolted. Friday, the dominators will crush the rebellion, starting with Skubal and the Tigers at the battle of Comerica. Edited 23 hours ago by lordstanley Quote
