Since he's starting today I thought this was appropriate here.  From The Athletic - "Opposing hitters have batting averages under .200 against him whether they’re left-handed, right-handed, playing at home or on the road. Opposing cleanup hitters have a .120/.151/.140 slash line against him. No. 3 hitters? They’re hitting .170, with a .185 OBP. The weather app on my iPhone, which is generally unreliable says it will only be partly cloudy. The Yahoo weather app - which is more reliable - based on Weather Underground that I also access on my phone also says it’s supposed to be only partly cloudy. I guess I’ll just have to tune in and - as children are told - I’ll get what I get and I can’t throw a fit.

If it were a normal 6:40 Skubal start, there would be plenty of time to not even worry about it. But the money hungry corporate types put fans last, we don't matter to them. The rain will start around 9 PM or so;

I thjnk the 6:40 times are actually corporate money hungry times.  They want you in there earlier so you need them to eat.  I hate those start times. 7:10 is much better for alternatives to eat before.  I’m glad they moved the Friday start times back to 7 where they belong

I use weather underground too and it looks clear until after 10 🤷‍♂️

Usually I agree. But this year, the weather has been even more unpredictable than ever. They could have started early to make sure to get the game in. But with the Apple money, they call the shots. They'll let us know what time they want us to play

I start work at 6:15 and love the early start times.

 

Radar looks fine in Detroit compared to the one I just looked at near my house.

Going to the Mets/KC game this evening and doing radar watching. Storms mostly to the north of us now but may hit around game time according to radar.

A lot of Mets fans here for the game, or at least several at the Negro Leagues Museum
