Anyone know what's going on with Karsch and Anderson? It's odd for 97.1 to schedule both hosts off on non-holidays, and these chuckleheads covering for them are unlistenable. I hope it's not a medical issue or some other unpleasantness.

was there one of them that had a better chair?

on a halfway related note, to my own surprise, i haven't listened to sports talk radio, outside of actual game broadcasts, since the pandemic started.  back then, i didn't want to hear a bunch of yahoos who knew even less than the people who were supposed to know talk about the pandemic.  in my mind, that extended into sports.  the various hosts don't know more about the tigers than i do.  in fact they demonstrated many times that they knew less.  i didn't find it entertaining anymore, just annoying.

It’s not like I’m intrinsically against sports talk radio, although for the most part I am, but it just seems to be little more than the syringe through which advertising is delivered, so to that degree it rubs me the wrong way from the start.

The last time I really listened to a sports talk radio show the subject was Lance Parrish.  Callers wanted to send him down and give that kid Marty Castillo a chance.

Talk radio and junk like espn with the stupid talk shows where some d-bag throws out his opinion like it's 100% the truth is kind of like a message board...oops...wait...kind of like this except we don't get paid and most of us don't take ourselves seriously.

ah i quit listening to the show last year so i missed what he did

He made a joke about Woo-suk Go.  I don't remember exactly what it was.  It was nothing egregious, but something you can't get away with when representing the Free Press.

I remember back in the good old days earlier in this season when we were a team incapable of losing any more than three games in a row and I got to post stuff about six runs frequently. Ahhh, those were the days.

Or they would get shut out and the next day score ten runs so everything was good again.

These days we need 3 games just to get to 6 runs in total.

In the old days, a manager who change the lineup if a team was struggling scoring runs. Not so much any more.

That's because today line-ups are changed daily to take advantage of match-ups and such.

The Tigers were swinging early toward the end of that first inning at least Riley didn’t strike out. And there was no one on first and there was already two out so at least it didn’t result in a double play.
