Hutch is going to get over $40m/yr so on a 4 year deal it's likely $160m or possibly a good deal more than that depending on what Parsons signs for if he's up first.

Also, Campbell is going to be a huge part of the Lions defense going forward so there's absolutely no way he's being traded for anything most likely and certainly not for a 30 year old Hendrickson due for a huge extension. Adding a 1st? No chance no way no how.

I'm just merely answering the question of what the Bengals are asking for and fleshing out what a Hendrickson scenario could look like. If a team wants Hendrickson, right now the reported asking price is a 1st + a young defensive player. I doubt Holmes would entertain trading for Hendrickson in any scenario, much less one where the Bengals asking price is as high as it is.

Damn, another injury to another really important player. Hopefully it's minor and he come back to practice and doesn't miss any time.

What I’m seeing is that it wasn’t serious. Left on his own, inference that he may have returned if it had occurred earlier in the practice.

I hear you, fair enough. The Bengals can ask for that all they want but I don't see a team ponying up that much for a 30+ year old due for a monster extension.

“Hey Frank.  How’s that retirement thing going?”

Looking at Cincinnati and Dallas, I’m so glad the days of gross organizational mismanagement appear to be behind us.

But there's still time for them to trade for Trey Hendrickson and give him a massive deal before they pay Hutch.

Hooker in for Allen. Have to think Allen has secured the QB2 role and Hooker is competing for creating a QB3.

Allen has secured the QB2 role and… the game isn’t over yet.

MCDC said they might not carry three.

Allen is playing well and TeSlaa looks like a day one starter.

Based on his not having played in the preseason I have to think Tim Patrick’s job is safe for now, but there are just so many weapons on offense.

They may need to score 40 a game to win

I think you’re vastly underestimating a healthy Lions defense if you think this is the case. Depending on how quickly Mahogany and Ratledge adapt, the defense may even be the stronger unit.

If they stay relatively healthy, a top 5 defense.

I think they carry three, at least to start the year, and give Hooker one more year.

They didn’t draft a real project this year, like Manu or Martin, who have taken up a roster spot the last two years without contribution. Coupled with Hassanein’s and Dan Jackson’s injuries, you have a little wiggle room on the 53 for projects who don’t dress on game day.

If you take Hooker’s rookie year as a developmental wash because of the ACL, this is effectively a redshirt sophomore season for him. The NFL rules also lessen the blow from keeping a third QB and allow them to dress in case of emergency.

-edit to add- this all being said, I won’t be upset if they cut him and lose him to another team on waivers. He looks awful.

I like their secondary but will have to see the rest perform that good after all the injuries. They may be great but if they can't put pressure on the QB it will be a tough go on defense.
