chasfh Posted August 17 Posted August 17 Note to A.J.: don’t pitch Chris Paddack against the team he came from where everybody knows his tendencies. 1 Quote

We face Tyler Alexander and he rises to the occasion like Cy Young, Paddock comes out against his old mates like wilted cabbage. Quote
casimir Posted August 17 Posted August 17 (edited) This might not be a popular thought, but down 7-1 going into the 4th, they’ve won the series, they’ve got a 5-2 road trip in hand at worst. Houston is the next series. There could be tie breaking scenarios related to it. If the Tigers crawl back into this game, so be it. But I’m okay with cashing this one out, saving the decent bullpen arms for the next three games. Edited August 17 by casimir 2 Quote

CaliforniaDreaming Posted August 17 Posted August 17 I would think they would save Melton for a game that matters. Bring in Kanhle and let him go the distance. 2 Quote
tiger2022 Posted August 17 Posted August 17 The good news is I have Buxton on both of my fantasy baseball teams. I knew Paddack wouldn't let me personally down. Quote

I was just coming back in to reconsider the Melton thing. I’m now thinking it’ll be Hanifee and/or Montero. Quote

I’m fine with Paddock still being in there to go as long as he can. Again, save the arm barn for the Houston series. I don’t know who is and isn’t available today. I’d rather save Melton for possibly a pair of save situations against Houston. Looks like Horn is up. Throw him, sure. Throw Kahnle. Throw Montero. Hanifee if needed. Quote

casimir Posted August 17 Posted August 17 What, 2 pitches from Horn there? He and Montero to finish things out. That’s fine. Sounds like Houston might be hitting town with a bit of a worm out bullpen. That’s too bad. Quote
chasfh Posted August 17 Posted August 17 (edited) I’m watching the game on MLB.tv and I have seen the same spot at least six times inviting me to use Booking.com to book a hotel package so I can go to Chicago to see the Tigers take on the White Sox in their Rivalry Series earlier this week. I would recommend skipping the middle game, but you do what you want to. 1 Quote

Is there an opener scenario coming up? I know he had a start several games ago, but I think that was kind of a 6th starter in the middle of a no days off in a two week schedule type of thing. Quote

IdahoBert Posted August 17 Posted August 17 So the last two Twins relievers have each struck out the side. It’s almost as if the Tigers want to get on the plane and leave as quickly as possible. Quote
