One of my old buds from Detroit that I met in Tucson ended up moving down to Clearwater, Florida. And he likes Tropicana Field and is forgiving of all its deficits because the heat and humidity is insufferable and it’s comfortable inside. He also says he’s never had a problem getting a ticket.

I remember nearly freezing to death (not really, but it was cold) one evening during a Spring Training game in Clearwater.

I would never want a dome here.... the weather isnt that bad.  If MN can get by without one, so can we.

My wife makes fun of me for never wanting to go to a Rays game when we've done our vacations down in that area.  Inside baseball stadiums are not appealing to me at all

Agreed. Baseball is meant to play on green grass under the sky, either during the day or at night. And the weather is part of the charm.

By the way, is Dingler’s absolutely awesome helmet worn only on special occasions? Of course, I guess if he wore it every day that would destroy the dignity of the game, unlike gambling.

I may be wrong but I think it was for that special "players" weekend. If they were to auction it off, I'm sure it would get a pretty penny...

I could’ve sworn I’d seen him wear it on at least another occasion before that most recent players weekend. But I wouldn’t want to bet my life on it. It’s just that when I saw it most recently I wasn’t surprised.

Yeah, baseball is the kind of game where, because of the bouncing ball, Skubal could get chased in the second inning and we could end up losing 12-1 or something.

BTW, the seeming inexorability of Skubal's march to a second straight Cy Young seems to be somewhat in jeopardy, based on the past three starts.

Yeah, Skubal hasn't been quite the same the last few games. But it's a surprise, he has better numbers than Brown does over his last 7, 15 and 30 games. He needs to right the ship tonight

I read it was only designed and worn for that special Players Only weekend. Here's a story behind the design of it;

Dan says should be only a short delay. MLB.com shows it now as Warmup. "Tonight's game will begin in a delay" wording never sits right with me. The game will be delayed, the game's start will be delayed, or the game will begin after a delay.

LOL - for many years, the PA announcer at Michigan Stadium for the football games was Carl Grapentine. At the of every game he would announce the change in the traffic pattern on Main street down to I-94 as follows: "Traffic Southbound on Ann-Arbor Saline road will be one-way following the game". No kidding Carl? Cracked me up every time. At some point he must have started doing it on purpose because it had become tradition I think.

I’m really tired of seeing Josh Allen in ads on mlb.tv 30 times a game.

I will trade you my Bet365 ads 30 times a game for your Josh Allen ad 30 times a game straight up.
