And he likes Tropicana Field and is forgiving of all its deficits because the heat and humidity is insufferable and it’s comfortable inside. He also says he’s never had a problem getting a ticket. I remember nearly freezing to death (not really, but it was cold) one evening during a Spring Training game in Clearwater. 1 Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 08:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:39 PM By the way, this game is also being broadcast nationally on TBS (out-of-market only) Quote

My wife makes fun of me for never wanting to go to a Rays game when we've done our vacations down in that area. Inside baseball stadiums are not appealing to me at all Agreed. Baseball is meant to play on green grass under the sky, either during the day or at night. And the weather is part of the charm. Quote

Of course, I guess if he wore it every day that would destroy the dignity of the game, unlike gambling. I may be wrong but I think it was for that special "players" weekend. If they were to auction it off, I'm sure it would get a pretty penny... Quote

But I wouldn’t want to bet my life on it. It’s just that when I saw it most recently I wasn’t surprised. Quote

BTW, the seeming inexorability of Skubal's march to a second straight Cy Young seems to be somewhat in jeopardy, based on the past three starts. Yeah, Skubal hasn't been quite the same the last few games. But it's a surprise, he has better numbers than Brown does over his last 7, 15 and 30 games. He needs to right the ship tonight Quote

Sports_Freak Posted Tuesday at 09:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:53 PM It's a beautiful night for baseball. Right now.. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 10:04 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:04 PM They don’t want to get the pitchers warming up and have it go to waste I presume. Quote

lordstanley Posted Tuesday at 11:06 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:06 PM Dan says should be only a short delay. MLB.com shows it now as Warmup. "Tonight's game will begin in a delay" wording never sits right with me. The game will be delayed, the game's start will be delayed, or the game will begin after a delay. Quote

LOL - for many years, the PA announcer at Michigan Stadium for the football games was Carl Grapentine. At the of every game he would announce the change in the traffic pattern on Main street down to I-94 as follows: "Traffic Southbound on Ann-Arbor Saline road will be one-way following the game". No kidding Carl? Cracked me up every time. At some point he must have started doing it on purpose because it had become tradition I think. Edited Tuesday at 11:26 PM by gehringer_2 Quote

chasfh Posted Tuesday at 11:35 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:35 PM Wenceel made the coolest-as-a-cucumber over-the-wall catch I think I’ve ever seen an outfielder make. Quote
IdahoBert Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:37 PM That looked like a home run rob by Wenceel. Quote
