sagnam Posted Wednesday at 08:54 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:54 PM Bears quietly rebuilding their line. Will be interesting to see if Johnson can have the same luck with a different group of castoffs. Bears will sign OT Jedrick Wills to a one-year deal Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted Wednesday at 09:03 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:03 PM Damn, that sucks. A one year, prove it deal is the type of deal Brad likes. Would have loved to have brought him in here on a 1 year deal as we still need an offensive tackle. Quote
Motown Bombers Posted Wednesday at 09:05 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:05 PM The draft is deep with tackles. This is also another team out of the running for Decker. I wouldn’t close that door. Quote

There seems to be more talent at this point, he's younger, and more upside. Really bummed to miss out on both Smith and Willis. Maybe we were after them and the players just want to sign elsewhere or maybe didn't even make an offer. Quote

I know that Decker can be solid. He’s proven himself in the league. Wills is a project and hasnt done nearly as much. A bigger wild card than Decker. Quote

It does look like the Lions hosted Wills for a visit based on at least one media report. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I called the Kyler to the Viking thing months ago. Doesn't worry me, he sucks. Quote

Stanley70 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Reading how much of a bust JJ McCarthy is with the Vikings. He has been hurt but when healthy they say the team had to dumb down the offense for him to function. Kind of shocking that the coach who helped develope Andrew Luck sends a multiple year starting QB to the league that can't read a defense. And he was the best QB of his 10 year run. 2023 was a great year and I thank Harbaugh for that but I am glad he is gone. The cheating accusations are petty for the most part, especailly compared to the blatent cheating the SEC and OSU were doing. Just a weird dude who is also not very good at the one thing he should have been good at. If they had some decent QB's in those early years they win a few more big ten titles. Quote

McCarthy is an underdeveloped but extremely talented QB. Has a lot of tools that play at this level an a good mental makeup. I would take him in a heartbeat to learn behind Goff. That’s the type of situation he needed and what the Vikings thought they were doing but then Darnold had a great year and he was hurt all year stunting development. They should have franchised tag or signed Darnold. Quote
Stanley70 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If what they are saying about McCarthy is correct, he is very underdeveloped. Generally what you want from a backup is someone who can step in and run the offense. It sounds like JJ can not do that. Quote

Ran off a guy who had finally pulled it all together, and then turned a talented young prospect into a persona non grata. Yes, the Lions should bring in McCarthy if they have the chance. He has great talent but needs time to develop and would be in a great position to do it in Detroit. Quote

I’d be looking at this draft for mid to late round draft pick for just that purpose this year for the Lions. Goff is rarely injured and doesn’t play at all in the preseason. Perfect situation for someone to come into get a limit practice and camp reps while learning from someone who has to be elite n decision making to make up for his athletic limitations. I doubt the Vikings are willing to trade McCarthy yet and if they did they would want a high pick back still. Quote
