MichiganCardinal Posted November 2 Posted November 2 28 minutes ago, Mr.TaterSalad said: What would you rather have if given the choice: next year's first round pick or a player of Trey Hendrickson's caliber, knowing you might not be able to resign him, but having increased odds to make a Super Bowl? I ask this question because we're likely giving up a 1st if we get a Hendrickson-caliber player. For the sake of argument, say Hendrickson is healthy and would be great for the rest of the season. I still think the answer may very well be the first round pick. Holmes doesn’t miss on 1sts. Sewell, Hutch, Jamo, Gibbs, Campbell, Arnold, Williams. Obviously the jury is still out on the last two, but if we are talking a rental of a great Edge instead of a future LT? I don’t know. And it’s not like edge is a glaring need right now, like it was last year. Hutch plays 100% of snaps. Mohammed has done well. Davenport will be back at some point for some amount of games until he’s hurt again. Paschal should be back too… the relative benefit of a single player on an NFL team tends to be very small on a game by game basis, other than at the QB position. I talked about my opinion of windows earlier, but I don’t think it’s worth sacrificing a first round pick and a potential decade long contributor for a few months of a slight upgrade at one position. Motown Bombers Posted November 2 Posted November 2 The Lions do t have cap space for Hendrickson. They need to roll cap over from this year. Hendrickson would blow that all up. He’s also not even healthy and Muhammad has out performed him. The Lions need first round picks because they have to keep supplementing the roster with cheap talent. The downstream impacts of Hendrickson would be enormous and not in a good way. 1 Quote

There is a player or even two out there that the Lions could acquire with 4th/5th/6th round picks that they frankly don't even need. It's like that Charlie Parker song "Now's the Time". I agree on holding on to 1st and 2nds - they're going to need a starting tackle. I have no doubt about that. Decker's at the end. Plus, since they seem to be signing everyone, they are going to need some cheap contributors. There is a pass rusher and a defensive back that can help this team out there that won't cost a top draft pick. T.I.B. Trust In Brad. Quote

Hendrickson would put this team over the top and make them the clear favorite to win it all. In her article she wrote Many teams, including the Rams, 49ers, Lions, Colts and Eagles, have called the Bengals on numerous players, including LB Logan Wilson, CB Cam Taylor-Britt and, of course, DE Trey Hendrickson. For now, some teams don’t believe Cincinnati has any real interest in moving its core pieces. She put five teams in a bucket as having called the Bengals about three players. Clearly not every team asked about every player. And clearly Brad is not looking to add to the LBs, which is probably the team's deepest unit. I don't believe for a second that Brad had any conversation about Hendrickson beyond "What are you looking for in return?" Brad is looking for depth at CB. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted Sunday at 03:04 PM Posted Sunday at 03:04 PM Yeah the logical link there is for Taylor-Britt. Makes more sense than the two players she named in her Tweet. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Cam Little (who??) kicked a 68 yard field goal. They need to make the goalpost less wide, or something. No name kickers are easily making 50+ yard field goals. Quote

Get a couple of offensive linemen. And maybe a corner, for depth? Use late round picks. Quote
GalagaGuy Posted Sunday at 11:11 PM Posted Sunday at 11:11 PM We need Offensive line help more than we need another Edge rusher. 1 Quote

Sports_Freak Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Posted Monday at 04:06 AM (edited) Jayden Daniels with a disgusting injury. Looks like a badly broken arm. Or dislocated. Edited Monday at 04:11 AM by Sports_Freak Quote

They left their franchise QB in there down by 38 points with less than 8 minutes left and he got seriously injured. Now that's a coach to fire. Quote

Right, and coupled with the shortened field from the 30 yard line field position (I guess that's up to the kickoff team to start resisting and kick into the landing area), it seems like teams are just two 1st downs from FG position now. I turned that one off after they fumbled on the kickoff return down 14-0. RedRamage Posted Monday at 02:01 PM Author Posted Monday at 02:01 PM As much as I hate the Packers, I loved (no pun intended) that uniform. How incredibly AWESOME would it be to have the Packers wear this and the Lions wear a similar uni decked out like the Portsmouth Spartans? Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted Monday at 02:24 PM Posted Monday at 02:24 PM Multi-time Super Bowl winning GM Howie Roseman strikes first, second, and third now with the additions of Jaire Alexander, Michael Carter, and Jaelan Phillips. The Eagles are clearly all in to win now. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted Monday at 02:30 PM Posted Monday at 02:30 PM Jaire Alexander is washed and Carter doesn’t fit their scheme which is why Aaron Glenn got rid of him. Quote
