I think the Lions should win this game. Doesn’t mean they will, road night games in the elements against the defending champs are no gimmes, and who knows how the officials will wake up feeling. But I like their chances.

Talent-wise these teams are equally matched, but the Eagles haven’t looked good against a good opponent since September. Ten points won’t cut it against the Lions. Add onto that the Eagles have a short week coming off a cold, physical game.

Coaching wise, Nick Sirianni looked absolutely clueless in the 4th quarter against the Packers. I’ve never seen Campbell, or any of his coordinators, make a series of such boneheaded decisions. Lions need to minimize mistakes, and fix whatever is going on with special teams, and I think they come out of this with a win.

It really is hard to sleep after. A win is a bit easier but a loss means tossing and turning all night...

Good teams tend to wake up the next week after not looking good. The Eagles are going to come out looking much better than they did this week. They also can put a lot of pressure on the QB and we did not look very good against similar attacking style defenses in our 3 losses this year. Could Campbell calling the offense help with that, I sure hope so. 

I could easily see us winning or losing this game and I don’t think either result changes our season hopes much. Getting another hostile road environment  under our belts can do nothing but help in the long run.

The Eagles haven’t had a great pass rush. They are bottom 10 in sacks. It’s why the great Roseman who let his best pass rusher walk has been bringing in washed up vets like Smith and Graham. Their pass defense is still good because they have a good secondary.

MCDC: highest QB under center percentage of any game for Lions this season, highest PA percentage this season. He is back to using the run game to set up the pass game, and back to plays that let Jared take advantage of his pre-snap diagnosis to hit the open man quickly. Keep out of third and long and I like Detroit’s chances.

The challenge with the Eagles is that Jalen Hurts is a slightly above average QB that makes a ton of dumb mistakes but he seems to almost always find a way to up his game and transform into elite during the biggest moments. I expect that he’s going to play a whole bunch better than he did last week.  

This game will go for the Lions as our OL goes.  If it’s the strong cohesive unit that we’ve seen on occasion, it will be a tight game until the end.  If it’s the confused version we saw against Minnesota and KC,  they will be chasing the scoreboard all night and it will end up a lot like that Chiefs game.

Josh Sweat got $41M in guaranteed money coming off an 8 sack season.  He was super fortunate to be the best guy in a soft year for free agent Edge’s.    He was a good player that got an elite level contract.   Great GM’s like Howie Roseman don’t overpay like this and it was 100% the right move to let him walk.

It was pretty good against the Packers, but that's also related to their offensive line being reduced to swiss cheese.

We'll see which offensive line we get out of this group, but so long as Decker and Sewell are good to go, we should be better than the Packers output.

Josh Sweat has 8 sacks already this year and is top 20 in pressures. Not bad for $41 million guaranteed.

Some good news as a lot of those guys are coming back. Davenport, Frazier, Paschal, Reed, Rodriguez. Hutch says he's fine. I suspect they are just resting a lot of people.

Looking ahead a bit I expect they give some guys like Decker the week off against the Giants. Short week after that with a huge game against the Packers on Thursday.

And they shouldn’t need a full effort to beat the interim coached G-men
