RatkoVarda Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Tigers move up one spot to 22 after Mets are penalized 10 spots for their spending. As of now, Det is picking 22, 63, 72*, 100** and then every 30 spots or so. * CB pick - tradeable one time ** pick they would lose for signing big time FA Pipeline mock has them drafting an A+ name, who I can guarantee does not wear glasses. 22. Tigers: Rocco Maniscalco, SS, Oxford (Ala.) HS (No. 19) Maniscalco reclassified from the 2027 Draft and shares some similarities to No. 1 overall pick Eli Willits (WSH No. 1/MLB No. 15), providing more power potential but less speed. Quote

RatkoVarda Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 Detroit's bonus pool is $9,165,100; they can spend up to $9,623,355 w/o penalty; about $1M less than last year Quote
Cruzer1 Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Next year, the Tigers might have four first round picks. Their own, one from a compensatory free agent, a ppi, and a cba pick, since it's their turn to pick in the first. Quote
Tigermojo Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) 22. Tigers: Aiden Ruiz, SS, The Stony Brook (N.Y.) School (No. 38) Ruiz is the best defender in the Draft -- he pushed Emerson to third base on the U.S. 18-and-under national team at the World Cup -- and also offers bat-to-ball skills from both sides of the plate, albeit with questionable power https://www.mlb.com/tigers/news/mlb-pipeline-2026-mock-draft-may-7?t=mlb-draft-coverage Edited May 8 by Tigermojo Quote

Tenacious D Posted May 8 Posted May 8 I suspect they will go BPA, but would not be shocked to see a pitcher here. Quote
LongLiveMaroth Posted June 26 Posted June 26 About 2 weeks until the draft. Every mock draft is basically us selecting an up-the-middle, left-handed high schooler, but always a different one. Pipeline has us selecting Jim Thome's kid. https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/mlb-pipeline-2026-mock-draft-june-25?t=mlb-draft-coverage Quote
LongLiveMaroth Posted July 7 Posted July 7 https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/mlb-pipeline-2026-mock-draft-july-2?t=mlb-draft-coverage Pipeline updated in it's newest mock to Ruiz. I still really wish they would move the draft back to early June. I know they won't but still. Quote

AlaskanTigersFan Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Carson Boleman is my #1 choice. But I wonder if they stick with the lefty swinging high contact good defense profile thus making Ruiz fit the bill...... Quote

Ruiz seems small, and with not enough hit tool to capture Harris. I think all the mocks are fixated on "Tigers like to draft HS lefty hitters" and are forcing guys into their pick rather than looking at simple BPA. A mock mistake, IMO. Quote
Nate7474 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I personally have no interest in taking a pitcher in the first round specifically out of high school. If I had to guess they will stick with their current 1st round profile. Looking at guys like Condon, Prosek and Thome. Quote

I don't mind taking a HS pitcher, just would prefer one that wasn't 19 already and had an internal brace surgery in his past. Quote

Riskiest profile in the draft in my opinion so it would never be the profile I would take. Not saying that teams agree with me or even should as it’s just my thoughts on it. Quote
