What is pass game specialist?

A fake title given to someone they want on the staff. AFAIK, there’s no rules limiting the number of coaches a team can have. And it’s not like there is a staff salary cap. So if they want to have 100 coaches they just have to pay 100.

I’m sure they have a role in mind for Shaw, and that’s just the fancy title they came up with for it.

Fake job titles are super popular in corporate America.

When someone knows where all the skeletons are buried, you can’t fire them. But if they’re terrible at their job, they can’t keep doing it. So the powers “promote” them to the newly created role of “Director of Workplace Performance” and now they get paid to do nothing.

Hopefully Shaw brings more value than the people I’m currently thinking of.

There are also reports from Rapoport though that Linderbaum's camp isn't returning the Ravens calls. DeCosta is saying the right things and I don't doubt that the Ravens want to retain him (otherwise they are replacing their entire IOL this offseason).

At this point, for whatever reason (whether money, hard feelings at the Harbaugh departure, or otherwise), I think he's going to hit the open market. Does he take $21MM to go to Browns, Jets, or Titans over $19MM to return to the Ravens? I doubt it. But if it's the Seahawks, Eagles, or Lions who are willing to pony up, it might happen.

If the Lions can somehow swing it, he is the closest thing to Frank Ragnow that's not Frank Ragnow.

Don’t leave out the Chargers. They could be the favorites if he hits the market.

The market setting comment isn’t a big deal.   He was getting a market setting contract from someone no matter what happened this offseason.

I agree on both accounts. Chargers will be players if he hits the open market. I wouldn’t count out the Lions though.

Justin Rogers is confirming Decker will be back. That's big news. One less immediate hole to fill. Still need someone to be ready to fill it next year, but you can focus on center (or guard) this year and tackle next if you need to.

I don't think Decker was as bad as some made him out to be. He was pretty much league average but his days are numbered. I would probably try to make Ratledge the future center and sign a guard. Guards are the easiest to come by.

He was league average despite putting off shoulder surgery all season. The way Campbell talked about him though (before Decker announced his return), it sounds like they want to plan on load management for him with the expectation he won't make every start.

I think he'll be good next year. Not great, not like his prime, but good. Where he was this year or better.

High praise. Too bad they used a first round pick on an off-ball linebacker. /s

My thought has been I would rather have an elite talent at a lesser position than an average talent at a premium position.
