gehringer_2 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) WaPo story to the effect that the CIA says Iran can hold out longer than Trump can, still has much more than half of its missile and drone capability remaining. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2026/05/07/cia-intelligence-iran-trump-blockade-missiles/ Quote A confidential CIA analysis delivered to administration policymakers this week concludes that Iran can survive the U.S. naval blockade for at least three to four months before facing more severe economic hardship, four people familiar with the document said, a finding that appears to raise new questions about President Donald Trump’s optimism on ending the war. The analysis by the U.S. intelligence community, whose secret assessments on Iran have often been more sober than the administration’s public statements, also found that Tehran retains significant ballistic missile capabilities despite weeks of intense U.S. and Israeli bombardment, three of the people familiar with it said. Iran retains about 75 percent of its prewar inventories of mobile launchers and about 70 percent of its prewar stockpiles of missiles, a U.S. official said. The official said there is evidence that the regime has been able to recover and reopen almost all of its underground storage facilities, repair some damaged missiles and even assemble some new missiles that were nearly complete when the war began. LaceyLou Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I'm wondering who wrote that tweet for him. Maybe somebody texted it to him so that he could just copy and paste? Or maybe it's that aide that's with him at strange times again. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) I have a second thought take on this as well. I had to sit through a sales training course once with my fortune 100 (pretty close to living purgatory for an engineer!). So our sales system consultant trainer is trying to set us up for a role play exercise and he starts hammering on the idea that you always have to get one more thing on the deal - so he tells us an anecdote about going out to buy a car for his daughter and from his description he's got a great deal on the table and he decides now he wants a set of floor mats thrown in. The car guy finally balks at that and our guy walks out on the deal. That's supposed to be our model - walk out on a great deal because they have to give you more no matter what. So we get to the role play and the topic in the groups was 100% "this guy is an idiot!" but that's the way people the sales world often think (think "Glengary Glenross"!). That's the world Trump comes from. Shoot yourself in the foot for your ego. Edited 3 hours ago by gehringer_2 Quote

One of his things was to bring Nerf balls to staff meetings. If someone said something stupid or wrong, we were suppose to throw the Nerf balls at them. I wanted to bring a ball made out of something hard, real hard. Most needed a ball banged up side their head, especially the idiot who thought up this stupid idea. Quote
