Mize pulled after 43 pitches and 1.2 innings. Couldn’t find the strike zone and walked four.

And then, of course Mize comes back out after a good talking to or whatever the heck it is… It’s hard to get used to this rule, but it makes sense in spring training.

Mize COMPLETELY ineffective at 6 hits 6 runs and 4 walks in a total of 3 innings.

On the optimistic side - aside from Mize - all the relievers who have come in have done pretty well, although I can’t speak for the quality of the hitting they are facing. I’m not paying too much attention to this game.

appears the Tiger hitters weren't either. Torkelson, McGonigle, Green, Carpenter, Keith, Roger a combined O for a bunch of ABs.

They still have to pay it sometime.

But at a lower present value-iirc it’s not until 2039.  And $13 mil still isn’t “$16 million” you keep throwing around.  I th

On my MLB.TV there is allegedly a Detroit Tigers TV feed, but all it gives me is the Toronto feed, but the Tigers radio feed is now perfectly synchronized with the picture and this is the first time this spring where they had finally achieved this level of acuity, which is good.

De Jesus is killing it for Venezuela against Japan.

It would be really nice if he amounted to something that’s surprising and unexpected especially given his age, and the on again off again trajectory of his career.

Valdez starts in Sunday’s March 15 game against the Yankees in Tampa. Both the Yankees and the Tigers are alleged to provide TV feeds, although that was alleged today for the Blue Jays game and there was only a Blue Jays feed.

The Tigers radio feed, however, was perfectly synced with the picture on MLB.TV which made up for it and a Tigers radio feed is available for Sunday. I guess we’ll find out, although I’ll be missing this game as I have other plans. Hope any of the rest of you enjoy it. The Valdez starts have been a bright spot.

Anderson and De Jesus have been very strong this Spring.  I don't usually care about spring training performance of career minor leaguers, but the Harris administration has been good at finding pitching diamonds in the rough, so they might have somethting.  We'll see.

The Tigers pitching staff may end up being a major strength. Starters and relievers. 3 guys at the back end with 20 (or 25?) saves last season? They may shorten up games, get a lead after 6 innings and it'll be a possible win. Or at least keep the game close for a comeback win. We may be close to a 100 win team.
