Sounds like he goes beyond 5 every game then.

Valdez and Skubal both go deep into games on a regular basis. The other 3 starters, not so much. IMO, Hinch needs to seperate the 2 workhorses so the BP doesnt possibly get overworked when Flaherty, Mize and JV pitch. Those 3 may get up into the 6th inning on some nights but there's always the possibility of only getting 5 innings out of them.

I feel like Drew Anderson is going to play a huge role this year in the bullpen.

He could also be a good sixth starter, or a backup for when regular rotation guys get hurt.

On those starts where Skubal is dominant but gets into a high pitch count and comes out after 5 innings, it’ll be real nice to have a legitimate multi-inning guy to follow that.

How many times did Skubal go 5+ and leave with like a 1-0 or 2-1 lead, only for us to hold our breaths for 4 innings worrying about if we are going to get the good versions of Holton/Hurter/Hanifee/Kahnle?  Having Anderson (or even DeJesus if he becomes that also) come in and go 2-3 innings and maintain the lead will be a welcomed upgrade and a huge boost to winning the division.  We pissed a lot of good Skubal starts away last year.

chas, is that your work product or the Terminator's?  It is detailed and high quality.

Ha haaa, you got me! I would never be this detailed and high quality on my own! I uploaded files to Claude and asked it to find the games based on the criteria prompt, but I did check the results on the back end before posting.

Just a reminder that the March 23 and 24 games played in Scottsdale against the Rockies will feature respectively, Flaherty and Verlander as starting pitchers and there will be no Detroit sponsored media coverage although the Flaherty game will have Rockies TV and radio coverage, but the Verlander game will have no coverage by any media outlet so far identified.

I see some people talking on twitter about getting Tiger tickets for signing up with Detroit SportsNet? I signed up a few weeks ago and was never offered tickets....

I got sent an email about it about being an early sign up offer and there would be communication about that to follow. I have not see the second email yet and didn’t expect it until at least the payment processed.

If you signed up before March 13 they are supposed to send an email to redeem two tickets to a game. Maybe check your spam folder? It was on the Tigers Facebook page. I'm out of market so I just have mlb.tv.
