This is close to one theory I've heard that Epstein was basically working for him. Quote

I can't imagine driving South thru Chicago to go to a sporting event - that would be worse than going from Ann Arbor to the Palace (which I avoided ever doing!). Of course an NFL team can fill a stadium in the Gobi desert, but it will be a different audience than the one that went to Solder. Quote

It's at least a 90 minute drive for ticket holders in the north and west suburbs, not factoring in what the current tolls are on the Tri-State or Skyway. There is train service, but you need to get to Downtown Chicago first to switch trains. Southside fans will be ecstatic to have Da Bears practically in their backyard however Quote

First of all, I don’t understand the presidential political angle to this story. But whatever. Secondly, this is way worse than Giants and Jets moving to Jersey because a high percentage of Bears STHs live in the NW suburbs as well as Lake and DuPage counties. This would add at least 45 minutes to their travel each way. Which is fine by me, I’m not a Bears fan by any stretch. It’s a debate whether this is short-sighted on the Bears’ part for playing hardball with Illinois to such a degree that the state would bail out on negotiations with them, if that’s what’s happening here. But yeah, I’m totally fine with making Indiana residents pay the bill for the new stadium instead of me. Mazel tov to them. Edited 20 hours ago by chasfh Quote

IIFC the Vikings had signed a deal to move South to Ramsey county before the final deal for stadium in Minneapolis was worked out. I think in the end the Vikes got a somewhat larger public cost share (~45%) than the Lions (~est 36%). I have no idea what the Bears are asking for. Quote

Motown Bombers Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) I can’t imagine puffing your chest because your government gave a billionaire billions to build a stadium in an industrial wasteland. Edited 18 hours ago by Motown Bombers Quote
