Well, if the squeaky clean Trump government is investigating ActBlue, no way they're not guilty, amirite?

I mean, the article is written by Charlie Leduff. He’s fallen so far he’s writing for whatever the **** Michigan enjoyer is.

LeDuff is quite a character, but if he goes sniffing somewhere, there is usually something that stinks.  I mean, we know from Trump and his auto-renew donations that he conned people into does indeed happen, so maybe there is no money laundering going on and Benson and dems are simply stealing money from their supporters.   Either way, not good.

If they are guilty, all they need to do is admit it, don't apologize for it, claim the investigation started under Biden, and Trump will pardon all involved.

Trump and Republicans have made it clear they were going after Act Blue. Dems aren’t stealing money. Just because a person made multiple donations is not theft. Out of state donors does not equal theft. I’ve donated to Dems out of state. It wasn’t stolen from me.

I can assure you LeDuff is not working for Trump in investigating this.  He focuses on local and state level, so whoever is in charge, rest assure LeDuff will be looking at them.

If you read his article, he found a local women that ActBlue states she donated over 8000 times and over 80k.  When asked about it, she said she's donated a few times, but not this much.  Definitely seems fishy, but again, maybe nothing illegal and they just prayed on an old women and are glad she didn't realize she was giving reoccurring donations.  If that's the case, we can just all ignore and move on as that would only be unethical if Trump was doing it....amirite?

I know you like to both sides everything, but the more logical explanation is she has dementia. The issue with WinRed was that they automatically enrolled people in recurring donations. Act Blue does not. We also have literally no evidence of these donations, just what LeDuff tells us.

8000 times would be once a day, everyday for 21 yrs. Not sure that number passes any kind of reality check. Now I will grant, once you are on a mailing list at either party you could easily get a new solicitation or two every single day, but I think a donor would need a professional personal staff to respond to all of them! 🤷‍♀️

The current federal max donation is $3,300. If she donated $82,000, that would take 25 years.

That's for an individual though right?   The article says this lady only gave 9 donations to Benson, 7 dollars and then 8 more donations every month of $2.50 cents.  Would you set up recurring donations to a candidate for governor if you weren't even sure if you were going to vote for them either?  Because she says she told LeDuff she wasn't even sure who she was supporting yet.

The article says she made 8,738 donations totaling over $82,000. Who did they go to? Over what time period were they made? His focus is on Benson, but by his own spreadsheet, she’s only donated $32 to Benson. Are you suggesting Benson is stealing $32? Or laundering $32 over 11 months?

So I decided to look up this Bob Cushman who LeDuff had analyze these donations. Bob Cushman is a conservative political activist (his own words) who claimed the election was stolen. He even has affidavits that were in the kraken by Sydney Powell. He was in DC on January 6th wearing a Trump 2020 hat. Get the **** put of here with this ****.

Haha, this response is awesome.  LeDuff tracked down a Michigan person based on research he cited from another person that has noticed many circumstances like this.  LeDuff chose to follow up on this one example.

What evidence do we have that WinRed was being unethical?  If you google it, you'll see many articles regarding Blue state AG's investigating it because WinRed 'misled consumers'.  But all you will see in those articles is that they detail those AG's complaints.  In the last year, many red state AG's have done the same to ActBlue but not surprisingly, you won't see a ton of articles about it (Gee, I wonder why?!?!)  So because there are articles saying what Dem AG's are complaining about, we have proof, but because we don't have a ton of articles detailing what GOP AG's are complaining about, there is no evidence....lol.

One of the Trumpy responses I remember hearing as a defense of WinRed was that elderly people just aren't as good with technology and probably didn't realize they were setting up reoccurring payments.   As such, please realize your defense of ActBlue sounds just as Trumpy.

One thing that seems like it could easily be proven though, this women doesn't seem to think she gave more than $2.50 cents a few times.  I would think she could easily confirm if her checking account has 80k less than she expects.  If 80k wasn't pulled from her account, but more along the lines of the $2.50 change a handful of times, then where did that money that ActBlue gave on her behalf come from?
