There were two outrageously bad calls on balls that were called strikes in the top of the first and neither Tigers batter did anything about it. And I don’t necessarily blame them they don’t want to burn their chances. So hopefully our pitchers will get the same cheating edge from the umpire.

That is two Non-strikes.

WTF, Tigers.

USE THE F-ING ABS !!!!!!!!!

I watched a video on the analytics of batters challenging calls, and the short of it said that challenging early in games or in low-leverage ABs is generally unwise unless it's an absolutely egregiously bad call.

Did Hinch threaten our players if they use a challenge incorrectly they're benched?

Deuce might have paid the clubhouse a visit earlier in the day.

I dunno Nate... but they are giving away pitches, that's for sure! This ump ain't great.

It might be an early season thing that they don't trust their eyes yet but I would rather them be wrong on something close then let the challenges go unused all game.

And I’m wondering if they are sort of tracking themselves. See how much they can trust their initial gut. “Am I good at this?”
