IdahoBert Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago There were two outrageously bad calls on balls that were called strikes in the top of the first and neither Tigers batter did anything about it. And I don’t necessarily blame them they don’t want to burn their chances. So hopefully our pitchers will get the same cheating edge from the umpire. Quote

Motor City Sonics Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago It's gotta be some team rule - don't use this in certain times. It's got to be. Quote

IdahoBert Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago That’s three challengeable strikes that went unchallenged. Quote
RedRamage Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I dunno Nate... but they are giving away pitches, that's for sure! This ump ain't great. Quote

I watched a video on the analytics of batters challenging calls, and the short of it said that challenging early in games or in low-leverage ABs is generally unwise unless it's an absolutely egregiously bad call. 1 Quote

It might be an early season thing that they don't trust their eyes yet but I would rather them be wrong on something close then let the challenges go unused all game. Quote
VegasTiger Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I hope the league is looking at the ABS on every pitch. Quote
