Jack is pitching tomorrow.

Winning this game would be a very big deal. I’m sure Kevin McGonigle will play tomorrow. So that’s a plus.

Of course, splitting a series on the road is ultimately very desirable, but right now it’s kind of like getting the girl you can have instead of the one you really want. I would really like Miss Wright instead of Miss Goode Enough tomorrow.

What's the point of starting the game at 11am?  The marathon is going to interfere with any day game so why not just have the game at the normal 1pm start?

Yeah, the pizza one was undignified. Unlike goading viewers into betting on the obscure performances of a particular batter. I’m glad the Tigers don’t have one anymore.

I thought the pizza one was a real expression of possible punk rock-itude by Torkelson (the purported originator of that one) but my gut tells me he was not being in any way subversive with that and that makes me sad.

Yeah.  I think asking someone like that to have an artists imagination is going to lead to pain.  I think I would imagine Ian Kinsler who was in the bat business with Jack White might have been like that.  Maybe JV who is married to a woman who is sort of plugged into the art world (as much as a bikini model might be).

That’s a salient insight thanks. I had never heard of the Jack White Ian Kinsler business relationship and looked it up. That is pretty cool.

Its not about interference, it's the opposite. It's so fans can experience both.  The idea is fans can leave the game and about a mile away to see people finish.

Lee probably won't play (at least start) today against a RH SP but that play he made yesterday was very impressive. He showed major league arm strength.

The main races start at 9:37am for the men and 9:47am for the women.  They'll have finished long before the game ends.

don't really like Keith at 1st but that's relatively minor nit to pick. Not so bad if Javy isn't at short as he's likely to make the toughest throws for his 1B.

But their friends haven't finished yet.  Some people watch the first part of the game and then go watch their friends cross the finish line.  Also, the race used to start later, so the  early game is probably an artifact of that.

Watching the Red Sox pregame show. And reminded of the terse and defiant remarks of Big Papi about the bombings at the Marathon finish line a few days earlier 13 years ago today.
