Untouchable. Flaherty? Lol...you try to trade him...at his salary and his results? He's worthless. Keider? I wouldn’t want to but he’d be valuable to a lot of teams Edited 8 hours ago by monkeytargets39 Quote

It would be nice to find a CF player who can actually hit. Or maybe a RF hitter. A RH DH? We need to start hitting and scoring runs. Trading pitching could be dangerous....too many injuries happen. DFA Flaherty....addition by subtraction? Quote

Lol...you try to trade him...at his salary and his results? He's worthless. Obviously I wasn't advocating trading Flaherty for Mike Trout. Great strawman to knock down though. Barring another run of injuries we're going to end up with some surplus pitching. Depending on options, etc there may be some that would either be traded or exposed. In that case trying to work a trade attaching an arm to a couple of our prospects that another team my think they can rehab might bring some return. It's worth exploring and I'm sure the front office is/will do the planning necessary. And just to be argumentive. NO One should be or is untouchable. If we were offered this deal you would have turned it down since we included 4 pitchers in it? That would certainly violate your "NEVER trade pitching" mantra. December 4, 2007: Traded by the Florida Marlins with Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers for Dallas Trahern (minors), Burke Badenhop, Frankie De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo Quote

McGonigle is good, but his numbers in May are worse than the team's overall numbers. Colt Keith is slipping badly. Hao-Yu Lee is hitting like a AAAA player. Carpenter and Gleyber are not delivering their April wRC+ for us this month as they did last month. The guys down the roster are delivering about what they were expected to, if not exactly hoped for. And Tork is just torking the **** out this month. I think we can count on some bounceback from the guys slumping. Even Tork is probably not as bad as 43 wRC+, but you know how streaky the guy is. You didn’t seriously cite Kerry and gleyber May numbers. I’m not disputing your conclusion. This team is ass right now. But come on, bro. Quote
NorthWoods Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Tonight's lineup with 4 black holes in it. Why AJ insists on playing Short is beyond me. Quote

JV may be pretty much done, he's a huge question mark. Looking at a trade Dombrowski made over 15 years ago doesn't make much srnse, Harris doesnt make many deals. And trading cost controlled pitchers is not something he'll do. Yes, we may have a surplus but that means Hinch may only use pitchers who are effective. If so, Bye-Bye Jack. Quote

Is it because Valdez is a ground ball pitcher and he wants his best IF defense? That is my only guess. We need to score runs and Short is pretty useless. Quote

There are always exceptions to the rule. I know when they made that deal I was sad to see Maybin and Miller go but I told my Dad then that Miggy was HoF level so we had to make the deal. I was no prophet because anyone paying attention knew he was special. Quote
