Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 Also, a bit odd they traded a guard out, which they needed to do. But brought back another guard and SF. We kind of need a PF. Quote

Letting him walk is preferable to overpaying him, and $35 million AAV is a massive overpay. They could have that position fixed by the time he leaves next summer. The locker room stuff is just a terrible argument. Again, Monroe played on a QO and it didn't cause any issues. If Duren does cause issues in the locker room, even a better reason to say bye. Signing the QO probably isn't a great move for him either. He's costing himself millions this year and the risk of potential injury or even regression further hindering his value. Whatever the case, he's getting some bad advice and it could cost him and cause issues for the team. Quote

casimir Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I would like a 5D flowchart to encapsulate this trade which, if I’m understanding it correctly, might also include the Oakland Raiders and a 5th grade lunch swap to be named later. Quote

casimir Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Just now, Deleterious said: Yeah I just have the pistons portion. I don't really know the rest No worries. It’s going to require a PHD to unravel it. I think the trade that acquired the Darko pick is somehow involved, too. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 This has all the details Khris Middleton back at Wiz for 2nd stint in 6-team sign-and-trade deal Quote
Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 Boy, I don't agree with that at all. If anything, they just made it more difficult to make a move. Stewart, Sasser, and LeVert were salary filler in a trade, now they don't have that. They are not below the salary cap so they can't accept future traded players into cap space. The guys they just traded for can not be traded anytime soon. Maybe I'm missing something. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 This is what I mean. They are under the luxury tax, not the salary cap. I guess it could mean an S&T with Duren is about to happen. Quote
Shinzaki Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Quick quiz...woukd you rather sign Duren to a max contract or trade for KD? Quote

Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 His numbers from two years ago. I didn't use last years since he was hurt most of the year and only played about 25 games. Quote
Jimbo Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I would take a straight up trade of Durant for Duren. Just don't think this team can have both Thompson and Duren long term and I prefer Thompson. Quote
casimir Posted July 8 Posted July 8 10 hours ago, Shinzaki said: Quick quiz...woukd you rather sign Duren to a max contract or trade for KD? I think that’s a tough call. Duren should be the player on the upswing of his career while Durant could bottom out at some point. Duren would also be nothing but salary space (which is something) whereas Durant is going to take some draft capital to acquire. Heck, in theory for a Durant trade, Duren would probably be part of the trade going the other way. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 (edited) 1 hour ago, casimir said: Duren should be the player on the upswing This is the big question. Where is Duren's additional upside going to come from? He's got room to improve as a defender, but other than that he would need to get to an offensive game that looks out of reach for him. That said, bringing in a 38yr player, even if a HOF one, isn't on my list. Edited July 8 by gehringer_2 Quote
Betrayer Posted July 8 Posted July 8 2 years of the Locker Room Killer or 5 years of the 40M dollar Rim Runner? I hate both of those options, but I guess I'll take the 2 year sentence instead of the 5 year one. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 I don't see a KD/Duren S&T happening. They already have Sengun, so there's no need for another young big. Unless you're bringing in a third team to take Sengun off their hands. Quote
Deleterious Posted July 8 Author Posted July 8 Probably a June 29th deadline. It could make him a trade candidate after the season ends but before the guarantee deadline for a team looking to clear some cap space. Quote
