That has to count as catcher's interference. They can't leave that up to umpire discretion as to intent.

EDIT: And the Yankees get their ABS challenge back because catcher's interference trumps the pitch call, meaning it does not go down as a pitch. That's what all the discussion was about. Makes sense to me.

Now Dan and Dan are debating whether interference should be called on a check swing. I don't see why. Catcher's mitt touches batter's bat during a swing? That's catcher interference. End of discussion. What's not to get?
