tiger2022 Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Just throwing this out there...maybe not give Goldschmidt anything good to hit this series. Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 The most Mickey Mouse Homerun stadium in the league and we sit Greene, Carpenter and Keith because it’s Ryan “Cy” Weathers on the mound. Good plan. I’m sure Casey will appreciate the lack of run support. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted June 29 Posted June 29 The only thing worse than that lineup is the possibility of the Tiger bullpen being called on to possibly protect any lead we may have. Pretty hopeless... Quote
roarintiger1 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 This lefty/righty stuff is getting old. Put the best 9 hitters in the lineup and leave them there. It's no wonder the Tigers have trouble scoring runs. There is no consistency in the day to day lineup. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Hey - since he went 2/44 Jones is on a min-tear, he's 2 for 7 (singles) with a walk. Quote

Please name the nine players we have today you would start every day and the four players you would play only off the bench. Quote

At this point—I’d like to see something like: 1.) McGonigle (SS) 2.) Carpenter (RF) 3.) Dingler (C) 4.) Greene (LF) 5.) Torkelson (1B) 6.) Keith (DH) 7.) Lee (2B) 8.) McKinstry (3B) 9.) Malgeri (CF) Then when Gleyber is back, bounce McKinstry to the bench and play Lee at 3B. Outman should only really be a defensive replacement. Rogers obviously spells Dingler and you swap him in the lineup with Malgeri when he plays. Vierling and Jones only need to play when someone needs a day off. Quote
IdahoBert Posted June 29 Posted June 29 I’m going to follow Thumper’s Rule because I honestly can’t think of anything positive to say: "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all.” — Thumper the rabbit in the Disney animated film Bambi (1942) Quote
gehringer_2 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Vierling apparently had his 'outlier' season in '24. He's done pretty much nothing since then, though it was a pretty short season for him last year. Quote

But he doesn’t excel at those either. I like the guy, but he’s 100% replaceable. So is Wenceel. Quote

Wow, that might be a tough sell, at least the former. Anyway: @roarintiger1? Is this who you mean? Quote

They already play McKinstry 80% of the time anyway, so it’s not changing much. The only other option is to have Keith play 3B……. As far as Malgeri, why add him to the 40 man and call him up if we aren’t going to play him regularly? Do we really need to see more of Vierling/Outman/Jones? Give the kid a chance—he earned it with his Toledo numbers. Quote

Put Lee in the top third, the kid has been pretty good Quote

He has hit lefties well but has been very bad against right handers. Quote
