oblong Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I was in that stadium the night Bonds broke Aaron’s record. I was with a cousin and uncle who have both since passed but they loved baseball. They were not related, just a large family. The uncle played minor league baseball and the cousin was an ump in the LA area who worked as high as college games. Told me the Weaver boys and Rob Fick were not well liked by the umpires. My cousin passed away far too young. 2 Quote
VegasTiger Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I've been liking Outman lately. Seems like a lot of hard contact. 1 Quote

lordstanley Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Tigers win. Back to 6 games under.500. Have gained a game on each of Chicago, Cleveland and Minnesota in the two games since the break. 2 Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 19 Posted July 19 I really enjoy liking this team more than hating them. 1 Quote

My cousin passed away far too young. I have been around ball long enough and have umpired enough scrimmages to know I could never do that in a game that mattered. And I have had jobs for real life situations that did use a lot of those skills. It just means more when there are a bunch of parents watching. 1 Quote
