IdahoBert Posted July 21 Posted July 21 “It was a good game. It just got away from us.” “Jansen made some good pitches when it mattered.” By the way, the Cubs also have horrible audio for their post game show just like the Tigers! Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 At this point, any night we survive an appearance by Jansen is a good night. Quote

Remember how lost Dingler looked at the plate his first stint in the bigs? 2 years later and this guy has that clubhouse "rock" vibe, something I felt Freehan had. Thinking of Freehan makes me verklempt. Takes me back to the hot, sultry nights of my childhood, listening to Ernie on the transistor radio while I’m the only person awake in the house. Quote
romad1 Posted July 21 Posted July 21 q: did they do any sort of intentional walk before Tork came up in the 10th? I recall his abysmal numbers with the bases loaded. Quote

I recall his abysmal numbers with the bases loaded. I don't know if this was mentioned previously. He hit the ball hard, but he also was the beneficiary of a drawn in infield. I think if the infield is at normal depth, that's likely a double play. But, hey, he did hit it hard, and that's about all you can ask for. Quote

That's strange with his bat speed but lack of footspeed. Quote
