Dan Gilmore Posted July 27 Posted July 27 A nice opposite field hit by Tork and it’s first and third- no outs. Quote
lordstanley Posted July 28 Posted July 28 4-3 Baltimore after 4. Coby Mayo drove in the 4th Baltimore run. Was anyone else’s social media timeline yesterday by the story of the Irish Gaelic football club named Mayo winning the championship for the first time in 75 years, having lost in the final 11 times since? Incredible scenes. Quote
lordstanley Posted July 28 Posted July 28 The 7-3 Baltimore. Bad time for an unexpected 3-game losing streak. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Get up to feed the cat. Tigers losing 7-5. Listen to it while feeding the cat, I hear Logan babbling about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the game. Come back into the room, the score is now 8-5 and Baltimore has a runner on base and Hinch is changing pitchers. Was Logan talking about shoving a whole hot dog in his mouth? Why is he babbling about BS while something Is actually going on in the game? This Tiger production is totally unwatchable. Quote
Sports_Freak Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Should I go on TV and tell everybody about my ex-father in law claiming he played golf with Mickey Mantle after he retired from playing ball with the Tigers? 😅😅😅 Not Mickey Stanley or Mickey Lolich...he insisted it was Mickey Mantle. 😅😅😅 1 Quote
monkeytargets39 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 These guys trying to chase the squirrel around on the field is a perfect metaphor for this season 1 Quote

I was coming back from a conference sitting on an airplane next to a very boring businessman and when we were landing in Phoenix, I noticed that he had a 1978 World Series ring as big as flash cube on his ring finger. Gary Thomasson. I have since looked up his stats and he had one hit in four bats in the ‘78 series. I only had 90 seconds to talk to him before we deplaned. At the time, he was some kind of real estate agent in the Phoenix area. He now lives in Paradise Valley, and his wife Anna is a member of the town council. He and his wife generally devote themselves to raising German shepherds for the blind. I’m famous too, Reever, interview me! Quote
IdahoBert Posted July 28 Posted July 28 The Tigers are very cagey. If they can hold the Orioles in the top of the 9th, in the bottom of the 8th they’re planning for Gleyber to hit a walkoff grand slam that changes the very course of human history. This is legit, and all these posts are time stamped so when it happens, I expect to be interviewed by Mr. Reever eventually. Quote

In my experience a lot of times it seems like they’re happy to not be immediately recognized. My sister used to cut hair at a SuperCuts many many years ago and she ended up getting Tyler Collins as a walk in. She had no idea who she was but I guess in talking he told her his name and that he plays for the Tigers (this was when he was active with us) and she called me up immediately after to ask if he was any good 😂 1 Quote

romad1 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 I want to give you all a little hope. This is the best thing I could come up with. The movie "We don't Deserve Dogs" also features these Ugandan comfort dogs. Its gonna make you feel just a little bit better to have watched. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 The pitching has to hold any night this team manages to score 5. It didn't. Quote

One of my wife’s former coworkers who moved from Tucson back to the Detroit area in the 80s worked at Supercuts. In 1988 when we went back there for a visit Kathy told us Frank Tanana got his hair cut there from her. She really liked him and said that he just enjoyed talking about his family and he was intensely devoted to them. He never seemed interested in talking about baseball and she said he sort of acted like it was just a job for him and not so much of vocation. Quote
gehringer_2 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 (edited) 0/7 at the bottom of the line-up again. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but if they call Max up after his deadline and he plays well and hits a little, and the Tigers miss by a game or two, Harris is going to look foolish for leaving Outman and Vierling out there longer than the had to.
