The American League is pretty bad this season. The Tigers are still in the wild card race. And we still have 55 games to make up the 4 games we're out. Are we playing well right now? No, we're not. But that could all change in a nanosecond. Reel off a 7 game win streak and watch us climb the standings. 4 games out in July isnt a death sentence.

We’ve been saying and hoping for that for a while now.  Our bullpen has somehow managed more blown saves than actual ones and the offense is too inconsistent to overcome it.  I don’t want to blow up the team, but totally down with moving players at the deadline that will help us for the next 3-4 years vs going for it with this crew.

I think it's possible for the Tigers to make up 6 games on the White Sox even without Skubal. Of course, it can go the other way too, in that even keeping Skubal isn't a guarantee that the Tigers will be able to make up 6 games on the White Sox.

I would love to see Harris get an outfield bat.  I have no idea who is out there, but I feel centerfield and right field have cost the Tigers multiple games.  But it won't happen.

...snd if it does happen it won't have been his decision.   Some GM out there will force him to take a good OF prospect because he's too dumb to know we need one.

If one believes in such things.  Directionally it makes sense although the RP being a positive number and LF being 0 seems a bit suspect.

Well, Javy will probably cover CF. RF is a problem, very limited options. I like Vierling's defense out there but the only real power we have from that position is Carpenter. And he's not hitting. (And hurt) and the BP could be better with Jobe and Montero out there. If we move a SP, I would rather use Madden as a SP just to keep Montero in the bullpen. He can be a real weapon out there 2 or 3 days out of 5 instead of once every 5 days as a SP.

I’m watching the Reds versus Cleveland right now and rooting for the Reds, although I have diminishing hope about how our season will turn out…But the Reds just took the lead 5–4 on a single, a mere single, by Stuart and de la Cruz scores from First. Then Stuart steals Second successfully when Cleveland’s catcher bobbles the transfer. Screw Cleveland!

Ramirez just singled and stole Second then stole third then scored on a sac fly so now it’s 5–5. Damn Ramirez is good! Can’t expect other teams to do our job for us…

Hinch says Skubal will make his start tomorrow..of course that can change at anytime.

I guess whatever happens happens. I’m tired of expending emotional energy on things I have literally no control over.

When it comes to the Detroit Tigers, if they became a fast pitch women’s softball team after the Tigers left for someplace in the south, I’d still root for the fast pitch women’s softball team. Moran²

Jake? Ouch. Yeah it’s painful, no doubt about it. We have a lot of affection pointed in Jake’s direction. And I’m sure that holds for the ball players. I can’t help but think that at least one of 29 other teams could use a backup catcher like Jake. Jake’s a grown-up and I’m sure he took it like a professional, and a man.
