I'm just glad I'm not a GM, it's a hard call. But not acquiring any help sends a signal to the fans, as well as the players. Reactions from today's Free Press. Disclaimer; I'm NOT saying i agree... Tiger337 Posted Sunday at 05:11 PM Posted Sunday at 05:11 PM I think it is legitimate to complain about your team selling their ace and third best starter at the deadline when the team is within striking distance of the playoffs. Saying that you are done being a Tigers fans because of it is dumb. I personally was mostly opposed to selling, but I understand it was done because they think that the moves will give them a better chance to win in the future than they would have had this year. I was also against selling but I understood Skubal being moved. Mize? Not so much. And not bringing in any help is a direct slap in the face to the fans and the team. I'll still be a fan and follow them cause thats what I've done for almost 60 years. But last year and this year really shows Scott Harris is hterrible at bringing in needed talent to help the current team. Who could he have acquired? Who knows and at what price? He'll just say teams all wanted our best prospects while other teams made moves to strengthen their ML teams by giving up much less. He blows smoke up the media's and fans asses and tells them it's raining. But oh well, maybe we will compete in 2028. Quote

Many fans are pretty upset. Scott Harris was probably mad we started getting close to 1st place. That makes him look very bad at his job. Winning? No...who cares? Make money.... Quote

What if they did bring in bullpen help in those 2 trades that we just won’t see for a couple weeks? I’d imagine that’s where Ryan ends up in September. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Wolf up shortly as his first 2 outings away from the PCL have been considerably improved. 1 1 Quote

Maybe we'll eventually get the good Flaherty back too. Unknowns. Of course, none of those guys will help us score runs. Maybe Harris will bring up a couple more rookies... Quote

I know you are at least my age (52). It’s not good for us in life to be so up and down by what happens each day (or week) and not put it in context in the grand scheme of things. romad1 Posted Monday at 10:47 AM Posted Monday at 10:47 AM Rough weekend was rough. Usually (besides May) the Tigers were the bright force in my day. Quote

Saturday was a funeral for the husband of one the wife's friends. That plus some sad news on my dad's health made the need for short-term endorphin rush from the Tigers stronger. Its the constant companion of the Tiger season that distracts from the dumb, the evil, the bad in life. Quote

In the grand scheme of things, it doesnt really matter. I was even able to turn the game off yesterday and go out and do yard work. Not even surprised our BP blew another game. What's that, about 20 games this season? Or more? 1 Quote
