oblong Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I saw a post on FB where Monroe County said they were not sharing salt with other communities due to shortages... I wonder if they were giving it to Wasthtenaw? Quote

LaceyLou Posted January 21 Posted January 21 A complaint I often hear is from people who clear their sidewalks and/or driveways, only to have the snowplow come by and block them with dirty, heavy snow later. Quote

I often thought there was a conspiracy. I'd finish the driveway and 10 minutes later the county would come by and block the entrance. There are reports that we may get a lot of snow here this weekend. Something akin to some of the snowfalls in the mid to late 70s. Thankfully I have a small driveway, but for the first time in over 5 years I'm missing my snowblower 1 Quote

CMRivdogs Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Our biggest question mark is whether we are getting ice or snow. As of yesterday the various models are still all over the place. I would prefer snow. Either way I don't think I'm going anywhere this weekend. Quote
Motor City Sonics Posted January 22 Posted January 22 EAR UPDATE: Noticed sensation (sound like a muffled or broken speaker) yesterday coming from the left headphone for the first time since my ear shut off. Did a hearing test today and while the results would not be called "good" as a whole, they is significant improvement in noticing "sensation" even if it isn't definable sound, and that is a major step forward. Been taking the steroid drops once a day for 7 days now, so it appears that this IS a virus of some kind and that either the drops or working or the virus is running it's course. No guarantee I get the hearing in that ear back 100%, but I'm certainly feeling better about it today than a week ago. I have to go all the way out to Macomb from Dearborn for these visits. The reason is that because this happened during the holiday break it was very hard to get an appointment anywhere close to home. I go to a Corewell Health center 48 miles from home, while I have one 4 blocks from where I live, but I need to stick with the team I started with. But, holy ****, M-59 is the worst ****ing road to drive on. There is ZERO traffic flow. It's a bunch of cars just doing whatever. There is no fast lane/slow lane, it's just pure chaos and half of these people aren't even looking at the road and cutting across several lanes of traffic to make the turn - and I'm not sure 20% of our drivers understand what the Green Light means. You don't need to hit your breaks when coasting through a green light. I hate that ****ing road. 3 Quote
LaceyLou Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Glad to hear things are looking better, MCS! Did a bunch of people move there from metro Boston? Sounds like about half of the drivers around here. Quote

Whomever leaves with the least damage, wins 1 Quote
smr-nj Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Thanks for the update, MCS. 👍 I’m glad to read that there’s improvement, and I will hope that it continues in that direction. 🙂 1 Quote
LaceyLou Posted Monday at 12:51 PM Posted Monday at 12:51 PM I accidentally clicked on a reel for 'is this the saddest song from the 70s?' I now have the song "Alone Again, Naturally" running through my head. Quote

I do like the song, but I have to be in a certain mood. Also thanks to 'contract disputes' FiOS is currently not airing channels like METV that have helped keep me sane during my short term disability. I never thought I'd say this, but I wish Xfinity were available in my building. If nothing else, Xfinity Mobile was half the cost of the supposedly 'discounted' Verizon. Quote

Not much snow but the Ice Storm Monday shut things down for a couple of days. My wife pulled the car across the street to try to gets some solar thawing. Back yard is frozen solid and the dog can't find anyplace to go in the sub 30 degreev temperatures. Quote
chasfh Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I refuse to take any customer service survey in which the very first question is, "Would you recommend (our service) to a friend?" That's when I know for certain all they are looking for is a verifiable marketing metric, and not for serious feedback on what's good about the service and what they can do to improve it. Quote

Tomorrow we do have plans though, so the hibernation ends. Quote

We did a survey on our product with our customers in late 2025 and I was adamant with our marketing team about that. No requirements to write anything. Whenever I see that on a survey I close it out. We did the question you asked but at the end. And we emphasized that our goal was to make the product better for them. It's something these customers have to use in their job to do their job, so we don't have to necessarily 'sell' them on it. We wanted to make sure our time was spent on what they want vs what we think they want. Quote
LaceyLou Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Trying to get a letter to state that I'm ready to return to work has proved to be an exercise in futility this time around. So many phone calls, emails, and messages... for almost 2 weeks. I've only talked to an actual human once. Quote

Ask it at the end, after you've given me an opportunity to feed back meaningfully on your product. Quote
oblong Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago We've discussed this before but I also don't like surveys presented as about the product/system but the questions are specifically geared toward the person helping you. It's a bait and switch. Then they brag about the product/system. "Yes, Marge was nice and did her best. But my problem was beyond her immediate ability to resolve and you didn't ask me about that."
