I think Artemis II is going to be our peak in our lifetime. That’s why I enjoyed it so much as a space geek. Finally… I got to look at the moon that morning and get to say “there’s people up there”

Maybe the Chinese beat us back to it.

There's plenty of money to go around and really the only meaningful competition between the two regards the lunar lander and even as presented there's a lot of doubts.   At minimum the New Glenn's are needed to deliver rovers to the moon for use on any lunar landings, they were awarded $188M to do that this week.... Artemis's goal isn't just to go to the moon and back like Apollo.  If all of these systems aren't working then there's no point.   Artemis III is going to test out lunar landers in low earth orbit, allegedly next year.  I doubt it.

Isn't this like the second time in recent months someone has slammed into one of DTW's Terminals?

Yep.  Not quite sure when the other one was, but it was after the new year.

I think that was the McNamara terminal. This was the Evans. Wonder how busy that one is now with spirit gone. I used it once for United.

A news story said the guy was looking for Tom  Cruise and made references to his father but it wasn’t clear whether his or Toms father. He was going the wrong way then slowly drove into the terminal.

The Evans (I'm still going to call it the North) has never been as busy as the Mac. I haven't spent time there since pre pandemic. I was with the Ambassador Program, I not sure it's still in existence

It would likely cost me a license because of my eyesight, but the driving standards need to be strengthened - a lot.    There are too many people that really don't have any idea what they are doing behind the wheel.   Even folks who are not on their phones.   People can't merge anymore.    If someone is unfamiliar with where they are - they stop in the middle of the road.   And slow drivers.  I don't get it, but the slow driver thing is getting worse and worse.   I take Van Born all the way to Merriman now (because of the 94 construction) and the speed limil is 45 and then 50, but people routinely drive 30.   I don't get it. No awareness at all.

Then you add the phone addicts and it's worse.    Can't put it down for 10 minutes to drive.  They'll die if they don't text every waking minute.

it gave me goosebumps and brought me to tears. I spent Monday watching it all.  Rick Beato just went to Toronto and interviewed Geddy and Alex, and their former producer, and also Anika.  I can't wait to watch it.  I knew she'd do well.  They would not have picked her otherwise.   The fill on Tom Sawyer is already legendary, Neil said it was the hardest song he played.  I'll be seeing them.  Maybe both nights.

How about a musical 180?

So, I came around to liking 40s music in my andulthood and I listen to 40s Junction on Sirius. I like mostly swing music, although I have familiarity with sweet music as well.

Just to give you an idea of how conditioned by the 21st Century I’ve become, I start hearing a song sung by Judy Garland called I’m Nobody’s Baby. So, going into the song, I’m imagining it would be about a woman asserting that she’s a strong person and not just an appendage, that’s she’s independent and can do for her own—she’s nobody’s baby, so don’t call her that, she’s a full person.

But of course, this is the 40s, a world where everything, including the songwriting business, is run by men, so of course what the song is instead is a lament that she doesn’t have a man—poor me, I’m nobody’s baby, nobody loves me, boo hoo hoo.

She was apparently still alive.  A nurse went down to try to treat her and talked with her.  That fall didn't look long enough for a bungee to work and I saw what was supposed to be a bungee and the thing looked like a worn out rubber band.

I'm shocked by this.  I bungeed once and I certainly was no expert but I watched the guys harnessing me up like a hawk and was ready to question anything that didn't look right to me.  Plus no one else noticed?  I'm not saying it was done on purpose, but if i'm reviewing the case i'm going into it trying to prove it wasn't murder, not the other way around. Like you say about the bungee too, it did not look like anything I would have trusted.  Looked way to thin.

For you folks that listen to Podcasts, what do you use?  I was using Pocketcast for quite awhile, but as prefer to stream rather than download, I was running into issues where audio would randomly cut out.  I'd have to download the episode and wait 10 minutes for some type of cache reset to finish.   If they could just get that to work I'd jump right back, loved that app.

I switched over to Spotify and it's just messy to me.

I honestly can't remember why I stopped using Apple Podcasts but figured I'd check to see if there are any other alternatives with some good feedback.

I go back and forth between Spotify and Apple.  Not sure why, mostly the interface on CarPlay as thats the only place I listen.  I don't like any of them really.  Spotify seems more interested in telling me what else is available.  I use it for the Rewatchables and if I go on a trip I will create a playlist of the various shows I want to listen to while driving so it's easy to work with while on the road.  But I like Apple's format better when I decide listen to something,  I just go to Shows and then find it.

What i hate about the apps is I often have a podcast series with parts 1, 2, 3, etc.  I wish they would automatically go to the next one instead of them deciding what "next" should be.

I was using pocketcasts but the quality seemed bad.

I really only have a handful that I listen to anyway, mostly entertainment related.  Rob Lowe, Smartless, Rewatchables, Conan, Big Picture, Bill Burr.... and some space related ones.

One way I know I'm getting old is when I no longer recognize by name many of the guests.
