  3. No it is not happening. You are 100% making it up to draw action to your site. Prediction markets are not like normal books, they don't win or lose. They are more like stockbrokers and just collect a commission on each trade/bet.
  4. One thing that concerns me for game #2. Most felt they would put Mobley on Ausar so he could roam and spy on Cade. With Allen in foul trouble all game they weren't really able to do that since Mobley had to guard Duren while Allen was out. They still handled Cade fine. I wonder if that gave them enough confidence in their ability to guard Cade without Mobley spying on him. If so, they could take Mobley off of Ausar and have him guard Harris instead. Going from Harden guarding you to a former DPOY winner guarding you is a big change. Harden guarding Ausar would likely see Thompson go crazy on the offensive glass. Harden is 5 inches smaller and can't jump like Thompson. But I doubt Thompson can do much scoring wise to hurt Cleveland, just get Detroit extra possessions.
  5. This team is so hard for me. I like many of the players and want them to win. I’m excited they are back playing meaningful games again. But the only thing this organization has in common with the one that won the 3 titles is the name and uniform. I hate the coach. He’s so poor in the technical aspect of the game. That’s the most important attribute for a head coach in the playoffs. I don’t hate the GM (yet) but I hate that he did absolutely nothing at the deadline. They had such an advantage being top in the East in a season with damaged contenders. He wasted a huge opportunity. I really hate the owner. He seems like such a self absorbed asshole. Private Equity firms do need to market themselves to the public. The only reason he puts Platinum on the court is because he can’t put Tom Gores. All of those Pistons won again videos they put on social are in front of the individual team murals they have on the hallway leading to the locker room. Of course, Tom has been included as the very first one. The owner is plastered on the wall like he’s the most important player on the team. Is there another owner in the league that does anything like this? I love the Pistons and am big fan of Cade but there’s just no way they can maintain any success with such poor quality at all levels of leadership.
  6. There were always series the Tigers played during the Leyland years where they were streamrolled by the A's or some other team in the first game and they figured it out and made corrections. Let that be the reason for the mediocrity of some of them, please.
  7. This was a flaw with the movie Glory i recall from the time it was out. Denzel's dialogue was informed by 20th century era things and not of the period. Still, its fricking great.
  8. I get the compromise, but I still don't like when screenwriters put 21st century dialog in he mouths of mid 20th century real people. It's good dialog but it's not terminology either of those men would have used.
  9. I’ve got a feeling several teams have been doing this to the Tigers lately
  10. More of Trump’s En****tification of America Here’s the definition for those inclined En****tification, also known as platform decay, is a process in which two-sided online products and services decline in quality over time. Initially, vendors create high-quality offerings to attract users, then they degrade those offerings to better serve business customers, and finally degrade their services to both users and business customers to maximize short-term profits for shareholders.
  11. And herrrre coooomes the lawfare.
  12. Him claiming he didn't throw at that guy is as ridiculous as Ndamukong Suh saying he didn't stomp that Packers guy, he was just adjusting his step. Oh, **** you, Suh.
  13. This plus 10 of his 19 shots were 3PTAs.
  14. Let's see what Netanyahu tries to do to torpedo it.
  15. With Stew, Duren and Ausar....we should be very tough to score on in the paint. All three of those guys are explosive athletes with wingspans 7ft or better (Stew and Duren were measured at 7-5, Ausar at 7ft). That tough interior defense is definitely becoming part of our identity. Draft Mara and we can lock up the paint for a full 48 🙂
  16. Up until Iran, I had felt that the combination of Democratic turnout energy and GOP voter disillusionment (as in "i'm not voting for anyone") would be the bigger factor in this cycle that the number of voters that actually change sides. e.g. MB just linked a tweet from the Ohio primary claiming that participation on the GOP side of the primary was down. But depending on how Iran ends and how long it takes for gas prices to come down, I think the calculus on how many people do actively switch sides can change.
  17. True. Once Sheed came, that last title team just took it to another level. I think people forget sometimes that before that trade the Pistons had that same feel. Gosh, they are so good, but this feels like what happened in the playoffs a year ago could very easily be the end result for what ended up being the third title season. But about two weeks after that trade for Sheed, I think most of us here knew this was going to be a tough team - at least until the NBA Finals. It's easy to forget there was a lot of doubt in this area that the Pistons could beat LA at the time.
  18. I have been fooled before, but i'm starting to come around on Green. I don't think she's bright, but I am starting to think she went to congress for 'the right' reasons. (I'm not advocating that her 'right reasons' were good, just saying she may have truly felt she was fighting for the good) It took her some time to realize the new swamp was the same as the old swamp (possibly worse). At the time she appears to have decided to publicly go against Trump, that was still a death sentence though, especially in hard right leaning districts. So choosing to run might have actually looked like less serious action than stepping down and using the media like she has to put doubts in MAGA minds. It's not all about using Carlson and Green to flip people from red to blue either. I didn't flip to blue in 2016, but I didn't vote red either. So they may not flip folks, but it can cause them to not support the GOP either. I suspect not all of you will agree with that last statement, but man, when I point out something shady Nessel did, or something stupid Whitmer did, even though I voted for them and will continue to vote blue until a major political change within the GOP, it's met with fire. Winning over voters from another party is a home run, but disenfranchising them from their own party still puts runs on the board if you get enough of them.
  19. Obviously, it's a contract year for him so he's trying to earn one last good payday. That said, Harris has been exactly what we need him to be in these playoffs. Someone who can score 20 pts. He's not the most efficient (mostly because of his three point shot), but it doesn't matter much. We have nobody else who can drop 20 besides Cade. He's also been very good on the boards, getting steals, and drawing fouls. We all know he's not a #2 option, yet he's been put into that role on this team. For what he is and what this team needs, he's stepped up. He didn't have a 30 pt game at all in the regular season and I don't think he even strung together two 20 point performance. He's got 6 in a row in the playoffs and has been big in big moments, delivering exactly what this team needs: scoring, "volume" or not.
