That’s a distinction with a difference. It’s a matter of degree but not principle. I think you are missing the overall point that actually supports your argument. The left is not as single minded as the right. There’s a big divide. If I were running for office here as a Democrat and said “I think netenyahu is a murderer and what they’re doing in Gaza is horrible” many on the left would abandon me and I’d have no shot. If I said Hamas are terrorists and Israel should be able to defend itself… I lose a bunch of others The point is within the left are distinct groups with very absolutist positions on Middle East politics. Any statement about one side that doesn’t include a “but…..” is a career killer now.

I suggested some time ago in one of these threads that the league should announce a year in advance that they're changing the ball the following season, then as soon as the season is over, give a few dozen of the new baseballs to every player who requests them so they can get used to them over the winter, and they can come into camp familiar with it if they want to make themselves so. Maybe I should suggest that to the commissioner. rmanfred@mlb.com—that should get there.

My Mets friend is salivating a bit because he knows the Tigers are struggling through injuries and losing, and the Mets are a heady 5-5 in their last 10, so yeah, I would like the Tigers to stick it up his butt. 😁

My problem is when it seems forced. I can see the Red Sox doing their thing on marathon Monday because it’s organic. There’s a direct link and they always played early on that day. But you can’t force this stuff. I thjnk San Diego did something similar with camo jerseys and that city is almost synonymous with the Navy stuff there. That’s all fine. But don’t force Kansas City and Detroit and the Dodgers into something that’s not immediately evident.

I have to admit my thinking on colored uniforms was shaped by my eleven-year-old self. I loved the green, gold, and white A's uniforms, and I still do, but I don't like them on just about any other team.

I think he might mean the 1850s. I'm pretty sure he doesn't want the tax rates from the 1950s.

He also said he wanted to go back to the 50s. I guess it depends on which wealthy person he talked to most recently.

Maybe some of them want to go back to the '50s, but Trump and his inner circle are explicitly trying to force the country back into the Gilded Age.

Naw, I agree with you, he's never going to face justice. I'm just left hoping that when he realizes he is going to die soon, he doesn't have the nuclear button within reach.
