  2. Well ya if they were using that to make the pick themselves, but they don't have that ammo for a trade to acquire anybody either! If you don't have prospects to deal you're probably hoping people want your picks. Their center options in free agency are....Malkin and Boone Jenner? They wouldn't be able to afford either them if they want to fill out their roster too. Malkin is going back to Pitt anyways if he doesn't retire. So Jenner and....Jack Roslivic? Roslivic is projected to eat up almost half of their available cap space!
  3. Rogers is better pitcher than hitter...that's gone underreported. Still a good receiver.
  4. Week one is always fluky. I’m just glad to not be playing a divisional opponent.
  5. This is better than shoveling snow, right?
  6. I’m not watching. Are they still directing traffic at the batter on deck circles?
  7. He will be gone as soon as Vest/Brieske/Seabold(?) are back.
  8. That's not happening. Harris and Hinch are here for a long time.
  9. I don’t want to see DeJesus in this organization after today.
  10. They ain’t picking’ up what we dropped, dog.
  11. i comfort myself that they will find new leadership to right this ship in the off season.
  12. Right. We all learned long ago that it doesn't matter how, as long as he goes.
  13. per @OPSenheimer: Between extra innings and now the run scoring today, they're up to 34.1% and 7th highest percent of inherited runners to score.
  14. I dunno if I'd consider that a comfort right now.
  15. According to the rule it has to be clear evidence to over turn a call, right? So, one could argue that even though it looked like Workman was safe, it just wasn't clear enough to over turn. Benetti made the argument that this isn't how we've seen it applied to challenges over the season, but if you want to go by the strict rule, then yeah... you could argue that maybe there just wasn't enough there. So, what about Perez at first? Supposedly there was clear evidence... we haven't seen it, at least not yet. I'll certainly accept that there might be a view that we haven't seen that makes it clear, but I'd sure like to see it. As for this last one: If I'm just judging by some of the replays, I'd say I'd probably call him safe, but... it certainly isn't perfectly clear. There's no smoking gun there in my opinion that says it's obvious he was safe. It sure seems like they applied that the idea of: "He's probably safe based on what we can think we can see, so overturn it." Which of course ISN'T what they did with the Workman play. Of course I reserve the right to change my opinion on this if we see better video in the future.
  16. Horrendous stuff...I'll comfort myself that they have 110 games left.
  17. What in the actual flying foxtrot is going on with this team?
  18. OBVIOUSLY this is gonna go against Detroit.
  19. April and May showers bring October playoff games. —- Casimir 3:16
