  1. Past hour
  2. the reason tanking is worse is because everything they have done to try to reduce tanking has had the result of increasing the number of teams willing to take a shot at the first pick. It's a counter-intuitive thing. Teams tank normally if there one player head and shoulders (in Wemby's case, literally) above the field. If they just went back to worst record gets 1st pick, there would one, maybe at least two teams fighting it out to be worst, and everyone else would play on because they know they have zero shot at #1. And the one team that tanked would get the player so it would be one time thing for them. The objective evidence is that the 'fixes' have all made it worse, but no-one figures out that the answer to that is dump all the fixes. It's the lottery itself that encourages more teams the take their shot at a ~10% (or whatever) chance.
  3. Pacers gambled and lost.
  4. But, Jim Morris would make for a better story........ Maybe they would make a movie about him. 😉
  5. And make it illegal to trade 1st round picks. Protect teams from themselves.
  6. league rewards the bulls. again.
  7. I thought he was slurring already
  8. you're probably right about buium, but maybe its still injury recovery related? they were really high on him out of camp and then he got hurt and missed almost the whole season. if wallinder isnt up next year he's probably back to sweden.
  9. let's hope he doesn't leave the rake there.
  10. we use too much 2,4D, but so does everyone. For my money it's a bit insane to plant grass and then put poison on it to stop things that naturally grow in grass from living there (e.g. dandelions). YMMV.
  11. MUST NOT BE EMBARRASSING MUST NOT BE EMBARRASSING MUST NOT BE EMBARRASSING
  12. Good for Workman. I hope he makes the most of it!
  13. Today
  14. Be nice if Philly could extend this another game.
  15. Sadly I think we can stick a fork in Buium. His skating hasn’t improved and he’s been a healthy scratch for a bit in the ahl here. Last game I watched him play he spent the entire game chasing the opposition in his own zone because his foot speed isn’t there. We should see Wallinder due to waiver eligibility next season, and he honestly has looked pretty solid lately. He and Anton have the biggest chances on defense to make the club I think. Maybe if ASP can put on a ton of offseason muscle he is in the mix.
  16. I also want Atlanta to move up to the top 4. Big day for Indiana. Pretty sure part of that Zubac trade has them losing their pick if it drops out of the top 4.
  17. Well they never seem to score any runs for Skubal, so….
  18. And never forget Georgia Championship Wrestling - the Tommy "Wildfire" Rich vs Buzz "Mad Dog" Sawyer feud remains the greatest of all time.
  19. Gage Workman is about to put this team on his back and carry it to 1st place. Thus it is said, thus it shall be.
  20. Coincidence. They went through the shame **** at the end of last year without an injury to Skubal.
  21. Tigers week-by-week* team wRC+: Week 1: 99 Week 2: 96 Week 3: 102 Week 4: 146 Week 5: 97 Week 6 (thru Sat): 44 Skubal injury: Day one of Week 6. Coincidence? 🤷🏼‍♂️ I report. You decide. * - Weeks runs Monday to Sunday except Week 1 (March 26 through April 5, 11 days total),
  22. If there have to be billionaires at all, Ted Turner was everything one could hope a billionaire can be.
  23. CJ was the guy who was supposed to be on the mound when the Cubs won Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, and he did get the first two outs of the inning in tough hitters Mike Napoli and Jose Ramirez. But then he gave up a walk to Brandon Guyer and a run-scoring single to Rajai Davis, bringing the Series-winning run to the plate in the person of worst-hitter-on-the-team Michael Martinez. Maddon trusted CJ so little to convert that out that he replaced him with Mike Montgomery, who induced the famous slipping groundout to end the 108-year drought.
  24. He has been given to that problem his entire career. I think Tork might be one of those guys who come into the majors expecting to excel on the sheer force of his innate talent—an easy psychological trap to fall into for a #1 overall pick—such that they don't work so hard to maximize it. Miggy was that way, too, but then, Miggy was innately otherwordly talented in a way Tork could never even dream of working his way to be.
