I'm talking about you treating Fenway as some magical place that no rookie should ever experience for their first game. Dude had to have his first game somewhere. Ain't no damn difference in it being at Fenway, Comerica or anywhere else.

Pistons haven't played a meaningful game since April 4th. Unless you count the last few games when they were going for 60 wins. Yes, the 1st quarter/half may see them shaking off the rust but I also wouldn't be surprised to see them blow away Orlando from the opening tip.

Good time to start one. A total mismatch pitching matchup. Skubal against a RH pitcher with a 6+ ERA. Tigers won't get shut out today....at least they shouldn't.

I worry about that as well. But, maybe being at home will help get them in the mindset. But these are people - not robots. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Pistons fall to something like an eight to 12-point deficit sometime in the first quarter. They haven't played while their opponent has already competed in a playoff intense atmosphere.

I'm rooting for Toronto, but I expect they'll lose in 4 or 5. I just really don't want Cleveland in the 2nd round.

I'm going to wear my new Pistons shirt for the next three days non-stop. 🙂 Have my Pistons' flag in a side window to my house. It will be moved to a front window for the playoffs in about 10 mins.

RECORD STORE DAY today. I bought an old Tom Petty album. Was hoping to find some good old concert albums (like to get concert vinyl since I have everything I want on CD for studio albums) but didn't see anything. The place I went didn't even have a 10% discount on used vinyl - that ended my enthusiasm right there. If they had 20% off on them I probably would've left with four used albums. They had an FM soundtrack foe only $8 but looked pretty scratched. When I was a kid this album was the one my dad owned that I played the most. I'll get it one day, just not today.

And games like these are why the Tigers may finish with 80 to 82 wins versus 88 to 92 wins. Obviously some of the bats will eventually heat up, but some will cool down. You can't expect getting less than a hit a game (without power) is going to take a team to the elite level. Okay they get some two-baggers, but let's at least average one a game. They've gotten so much good pitching and they are .500.

Cleveland loses their challenge and can't use one the rest of the game. Early in the 2nd quarter. This is why I don't like the challenge rules, every close call will go against the Cavs now. I'm torn, I want Cleveland to lose but I really don't like Toronto.

Yeah, I guess they haven't played a meaningful game in a while. Getting to 60 wins was a goal (Amazing) but Orlando has been playing for their playoff lives. JB won't let his team come out flat, would he? I guess that's my main 1st round worry...

The grind to keep his “brand” going?

I’ve had a Pistons layoff. Busy with work. The Tigers starting out a new season. And really, not much for the Pistons to play for given the probable and clinched seeding of top team in the East. Let that sink in for a moment. Top seed in the East. That’s crazy talk heading into this season.

Yup. Time to start another winning streak.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a bipolar player before. It’s not to say he only plays on the extreme ends. But he can look so darn impressive at times and completely horrible at others with plenty of in the middle. His effortless transition to CF just impresses me. We’ve seen a few guys do that before. Brandon Inge is one that comes to mind, leaving from behind the plate to land at 3B with some short time in OF. Yes, the bat was meh. But the glove work deserves mention. Craig Biggio from behind the plate to 2B to OF to HOF. I knew of it, but baseball wasn’t on as much as it is today. And HOF Robin Yount. MVPs at SS and CF? Even less TV exposure during his playing days, so tough to follow outside of print media. i don’t think anyone is happy with the Baez contract. But his defense and versatility have ready come into benefit last season and now.

Oh wow! I just realized that this game begins at 2:10 PM MDT for me which means I don’t have to wait all day long for it to begin. “It’s raining runs, hallelujah. It’s raining runs“ hopefully for us.

He's about as close to ready as just about any player I've seen. The Tigers are being careful with him but if keeps this up, he's going to force their hand;

Not much to say. Orlando is not a good basketball team despite their big blowout last night. On defense, they finished 11th which isn't bad. But they don't have anyone that matches up well with Cade. Suggs will get the bulk of that work, and he gives up a good 15-20 pounds to Cade. Cunningham averaged 32/10/8 in three games against Orlando this season. Nobody really matches up with Duren either. Both guys should have a big series. On offense, Orlando is a mess. They don't even have a true PG on the roster. They are one of the worst shooting teams in the league, 21st from the floor and 27th from three. Banchero is probably the least efficient star in the entire league and loves the pull-up mid-range jumper instead of going to the rim. Bane is fantastic and their best player IMO. Ausar should get that assignment. Zero shooting threat from the C positions, which is good for Duren. The one thing Orlando does well is get to the line, first in the league this year. Detroit fouls a ton so that is one thing to watch. Expect a big discrepancy in free throw attempts this series. Orlando's locker room is also a mess. Almost everyone expects Mosley to be fired at the end of the season. There were reports this week of Orlando's star player demanding the coach be fired or he would want a trade. Pistons in 4
