Amazing that the same people couldn't have cared less that 6 year olds were slaughtered are suddenly all about gun safety because it might give them the opportunity to pin it on an actor who mocked the person they worship.2 points

qbs taken outside round 1: 2015: garrett grayson, sean mannion, bryce petty, brett hundley, trevor simien. 2016: paxton lynch, christian hackenberg, jacoby brissett, cody kessler, connor cook, dak prescott, cardale jones, nate sudfeld, kevin hogan, jake rudock, brandon allen, jeff driscoll, brandon doughty 2017: deshone kizer, davis webb, cj beatherd, josh dobbs, nathan peterman, brad kayaa, chad kelly 2018: mason rudolf, kyle lauletta, mike white, luke faulk, tanner lee, danny etling, alex mcgough, logan woodside. 2019: drew locke, will grier, ryan findley, jarrett stidtham, easton stick, clayton thorston, gardner minshew, trace mcsorley. how many of those guys are good nfl players? 1? 2 if you want to count minshew being ok for a few games in jacksonville? how many have been traded for multiple first round picks? or for anything of value? none. it is not a productive exercise to draft qbs outside of round 1, nor does it usually get you anything back in assets. qbs are extremely valuable. if the lions are going to find the qb of the future, the overwhelming evidence suggests they will need to do it in round 1.1 point

everybody remembers lamar jackson, nobody remembers all the qbs who got picked late in round one who failed. everyone remembers wilson and dak but nobody remembers all the guys in round 3 who never panned out and who nobody was ever going to trade you anything for. and those guys are a lot more numerous than dak or russell wilson.1 point

Got my booster today. Hoping I don’t have much a reaction to the shot, as I am covering at work both my hours tomorrow and someone else’s morning hours. That’ll be tough if I get some of the chills/aches that I got with my second shot, but I don’t think I will. I’m not hearing people hurting after the booster.🤞🏼1 point

Raymond seems to be able to use his edgework and decision making to make up for his lack of elite straight line speed. As soon as he saw that he had a step on the Cap based on his pivot Raymond started booking it up the ice it was beautiful to see. He also saved a goal with a backcheck earlier in the game, I honestly love what I'm seeing from him all around.1 point

Fox is second-rate on more than just the actual broadcast. That pre-game with A-Rod, Papi, and Bug Hurt is a complete clown show as well.1 point

With the caveat that I think Alec Baldwin is an incredibly funny man and a tremendous "pin piercing skin", the memes that mock him in this instance are tragic. I don't wish the vitriol pointed his direction anymore than I wish the death of a young woman because of someone else's negligence. While the death is the greater loss, people laughing at Baldwin need to check themselves.1 point

What individuals have been paying a 15% tax on unrealized gains? Musk has a very good point.1 point

i just dont think harbaugh is the sharpest knife in the drawer. he's a football coach, not a philosopher king. most of these guys arent geniuses, theyre just former great athletes who can use motivational tools to get kids to play a game hard. harbaugh is bo 2.0 without the talent advantages bo had over 90% of the teams he played. not to take anything away from bo, but his inherent conservatism cost the team at least one national championship, and probably more than that in the big picture. part of that was the overrated nature of the big ten and the cockamamie way they determined a "national champion" in a sport where the best teams never played each other, but it is also a testament to bo being a really good coach. harbaugh is conservative to a fault too. look at the rutgers game. cant make it work? keep pounding away and dont turn the ball over. that's why mcnamera will stay the qb until and unless he starts to make mistakes or mccarthy really forces their hand. which wont come until next year. that's when mccarthy takes over and mcnamera leaves.1 point

Simulation would probably be as good at determining a true champion as having playoffs. Or they could just use the regular season results. They have playoffs because they are entertaining and thus profitable. As for your other point, all teams use analytics now. Just because some teams have more of a reputation for it doesn't mean they use it more. It could be that some teams don't talk about it because they don't want to tip their hand.1 point

I haven't watched cable news regularly for multiple years now. Definitely one of the better decisions I've ever made. The big thing is the business model - it all runs on outrage, which the need to draw ratings and make money. Just better to cut that shit out and stick with print journalism (particularly local) or even local-TV news...1 point

Next year will only be their second season of the rebuild, I think it's unrealistic to expect them to make any major strides by the 2nd year considering how bare the roster was to begin with and the fact we don''t have a good QB. I'm hoping next year we show progression from players that Holmes and company have drafted/acquired and win some more games but barring some miracle turnaround from Goff(or great rookie year by QB if we draft one this season) I don't see how we finish any better than bottom 5.1 point

Sounds good. I hope you made out like a bandit. I will miss Motownsports very much. It was amazing to go to one site to catch the latest news on all the Michigan sports w/o having to go to each individual place...... Sad and glad you sold it. Great site. I appreciate it very much, you keeping the forums up and running here!1 point
