  1. Camp feels different this year. Throws are crisper. Guys are attentive. Motivated. Asking different questions.

  2. When I adopted Lucy last August they said should might only be around 6 more months, depending on how aggressively the cancer returned. I made the decision to adopt her because she is such a sweet dog that even if she was sick, she deserved a good life, a happy life. I also decided that I wasn't going to spend a lot of money having it removed if it was only going to keep coming back. I am happy to report that Lucy is doing well as we approach our 7 month point. She has her own room and her own human-sized bed. She is a very very happy and energetic girl and she does not have a mean cell in her body. Don't know how long this will last, but I am glad I adopted her, even if it means pain later on. She deserves every bit of happiness she gets. I still get shaken for a moment when I think of Diego, but Lucy keeps me busy. She's on Cat Watch in the backyard on this freakishly warm February day.

  3. The answer should be "yes"... 2022 has made everyone cynical as all get out, but in terms of outfield, there is a world where Riley/Meadows are putting up really good numbers and Vierling/Baddoo/Carpenter are playing well enough where they should be in the lineup most days. Not saying that world happens, certainly injuries will play a factor as well, but if it does, I don't know how easy it is to give Miggy regular ABs...

  4. I'd like him relegated to the dugout as a "coach/ ambassador" and off the 40. buddha suggested ambassadorship. I concur.

  7. Hockenson's production went up after he left Detroit. In Minnesota Hockenson was averaging nearly 2.5 more targets per game. He was on pace for over 100 catches with Minnesota. If the Lions were going to take a TE in the upper rounds, they would have just kept Hockenson and used him the way Minnesota did.

  8. It's not really. The TE isn't featured prominently in the passing game in this offense, moreso in the running game, and they have 3 young tight ends that scored a whole bunch of TDs once Hock was traded. Taking a tight end in the 1st round would be absolute madness.

  9. So Nolan now finds himself a political orphan? So Sad. Can't think of a guy I will cry for less.

  10. "Different feeling around the team this year, the boys are just being looser and having fun vs. playing tight last year. AJ thinks their relaxed attitude is going to carry over onto the field and lead to more wins."

  11. I will defend Ford on the fact that he had the strangest road to the Presidency of any in history. I don't blame him for any post-office finances. He was in a no-win situation. Took two guys stepping down out of shame. The things that Agnew and Nixon did now probably wouldn't end a Presidency. Regarding Carter, I think he tried to be realistic on a lot of issues and that's what clobbered him. Nobody wants to be told that the truth is hard. The Republicans made deals to make sure those hostages would never get out under Carter's watch. To me it's unforgivable. If they had been freed or rescued before the election, Carter probably would have won. He refused to campaign while they were still in captivity. That would never happen now - for either party.

  13. It would a beautiful thing if the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nominated Tucker Carlson for a prime time Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy Series. He would most certainly win.

  16. Yes, exactly. My opinion, which admittedly ain't worth nothing, is that pitching has more or less devolved into throwing. I think this leads to the 6 man pitching staffs, the 13 man pitching staffs, shorter duration/game on the mound, etc, etc. I don't know, it seems silly to me that with better conditions for athletes, better health (training and nutrition, etc) and we're still dealing with injury issues despite shorter outings. And, sure, all of these advancements and better conditions are helping the hitters, too. I don't know, I'm trying to not be "back in my day" guy, but the modern day pitching just doesn't make sense to me.
