  1. You’re a Florida State fan now?
  2. Maybe, maybe not. He’s still mostly potential right now. How will that potential actually play out?
  3. That’s absolutely disgusting.
  4. I think the other thing to that Florida State deserves credit for is their early season win over LSU. I like the idea of rewarding wins over out of conference competition like that. And, yes, I know they’ve also got an FCS opponent on the docket this season, too. But they’re undefeated in a power 5 conference, won the championship, they’ve beaten a pretty good out of conference opponent. That’s their resume this season. Given the no loss and one loss teams, they should be rewarded with a playoff berth.
  5. Not exactly. More like morans.
  6. Pretty sure this was said about hosting the Wizards.
  7. Their trade value might be debatable. But Reese Olson was acquired for Daniel Norris. So it’s not necessarily what gets sent out as much as what gets brought in return and how it is developed.
  8. I think I’d go 1 Michigan vs 4 Texas and 2 Washington vs 3 Florida State. I think there’s reasonable debate about which one loss team gets in. Ultimately I think that it comes down to a head to head of Texas defeating Alabama on the road, and Alabama defeated Georgia on a neutral field. I would also suggest that of the one loss teams, Alabama is the luckiest to have not sustained a second loss. It’s unfortunate that the larger playoff doesn’t start this season. I have an acquaintance that I had forgotten is a part of the committee this season. I hope he’s willing and able to share some of the background about how the decision process goes down this season the next time that I see him (which isn’t often).
  9. I don’t know. They’re unblemished, which is more than can be said about other teams. Here is a point that I heard this week, and I wish I remember who made it, but I don’t. Florida State has lost its starting QB and some (or a lot of) folks want to ding them for that. While the QB can have a lot of weight on the success of a team, there are 11 guys out there on any play, offense, defense, and special teams. Florida State isn’t undefeated solely because of their original starting QB. It’s a a little unfair to the rest of the team to cast them aside for another team that might meet an eye test but has also has a loss on their ledger.
  10. Oh, we all know that about you.
  11. Seems like a basic summary of the thread.
  12. It doesn’t? Your inability to listen to others and instead shooting down with your tsk tsk tsk type commentary? Adhenece to straight ticket party voting is ignorant.
  13. Your never ending defense of Al Avila.
  14. It’s funny seeing some of those names with those teams. I didn’t realize Cepeda bounced around as much as he did.
  15. Whoever wants to be pissed off by it. That’s clearly the game at this point.
  16. Part of the job as commish is to promote your product. Once the games are over, let’s evaluate resumes and go from there. Its too bad Alabama converted that 4th down last week. Hearing him bark for a 2 loss champion (if they beat Georgia) would’ve been good theatre.
  17. That isn’t the issue. The CTRL+C is what slows it down.
  18. This is the game that seems like the least likely to go OSU’s way.
  19. Flip Saunders (makes sign if he cross) was the last Pistons’ coach to win a playoff series. What in the world has this fan base done to deserve this stretch of absolute futility? A few seasons in the tank, sure, it happens. But two playoff appearances since the Michael Curry era of 2008-9? In a sport where over half of the league gets a playoff participant ribbon? This has to be completely gut wrenching for die hard fans that have shelled out for season tickets along the way.
  20. Jim is right. And it’s not just in his thread. Maybe not necessarily the hatred, but certainly one sidedly dismissive and unwaveringly ignorant.
  21. I think you could scroll through other issues and find disagreements with the official line. Female priests for another.
  22. This is it. Regardless of where one is on the deity spectrum, don’t live life like… well, you probably put it better than I did a page or two back.
  23. After the kick in the nuts November that the Pistons had, this is a nice poke in the eye.
  24. Gosh that guy was so much fun to watch. Its too bad he didn't have more of a national audience other than his almost daily appearance on ESPN SportsCenter highlights.
  25. I'm not that worried about $30M AAV per se. But specific to bringing in a top tier SP, which Snell is considered to be, the walk rate is too high for my liking. Its been that for a while, and he's gotten away with it due to a lower H/9. Now, OK, it is better to allow a walk than an extra base hit, and that's where he's been able to find success. However, what happens when the velocity ticks down a bit, the movement isn't quite what it was, and the contact becomes more frequent, more solid, more pinpointed onto the barrel of the bat? Ain't gonna be pretty at $30M per. For $30M per, I would want a history of success with a reasonable projection of sustainability. I'm a complete amateur looking at numerals hacktastically. But I kind of question Snell going forward.
