    Yes, I think he’s done pretty well with draft picks and carving out roster/salary flexibility. It hasn’t been perfect, but on the whole it’s progressed in the right direction to build from within. Got anyone in mind to replace Casey?

    There is another total eclipse in April of 2024. If my house isn’t in the path of total eclipse, it’s damn near close to it. I’m taking the day off to stay home and enjoy the shenanigans.

    Trade away from depth at RP to try to fill holes elsewhere on the roster. Backfill the RP with free agent signings and/or internal promotions. I like it.

    Is Chafin a mentor type for younger pitchers? He was a loose spirit and a fan favorite, but I’m not sure that’s necessarily the kind of veteran presence that leads a young bullpen. Or maybe he could be, heck, what do I know?

    Look at those strikeout and walk rates. It didn’t take long to replace Soto.

    A Gonzalez or Tony Phillips type of guy that can play 4 or 5 times a week at multiple positions is a nice player for any team to have on the roster.

    Well, there is that, too. The injury helps the draft lottery situation, but at some point the youth and potential needs to blossom into wins.
