  1. I kind of wonder if Perez is the LHH IF. And if he doesn’t show MLB ready in spring, fine, he goes to Toledo and they just go with Clemens/Kreidler along with Baez and Schoop.
  2. The Hawks have had some good seasons, but just never quite good enough. Or their record was a mirage and the house of cards eventually fall apart in the playoffs.
  3. Well, as far as catcher is concerned, it shouldn't be too difficult to improve upon what Barnhart "produced".
  4. Yes, I think we'll see the RHH OF that Harris mentioned.
  5. So, Meadows, Schoop, and Baez hit at career averages. Full & healthy reasonably good seasons from Greene and Torkelson. How many wins does that add on its own?
  6. I still think the near term priority is getting the structure of the organization in the right direction. Its not to say that the on field is to be ignored. Certainly there are gains to be made there, beginning with continuous development of prospects and hopefully finding rebounds among the numerous veteran bats that disappointed.
  7. A bit higher than 2/$17M.
  8. Detroit Pistons vs Atlanta Hawks
  9. He’s a bit more pull happy than MLB average. I wonder what the shift rules do for him?
  10. True. The other we need to keep in mind is perhaps the Tigers were interested in certain players however the interest wasn’t reciprocal. It’s certainly not the case with every free agent, but we don’t have access to those details.
  11. He could have been the RHH OF.
  12. That’s a contract that I would have liked for the Tigers.
  13. Is Conforto's health or LHH bat a real problem? Neither are ideal, but if he's healthy, he's a better option than whomever else is slated for LF. I know some folks want to see Carpenter or Baddoo in LF, but a healthy Conforto is a better player than either. We'll see what Conforto actually signs for. 2/$17M seems cheap for him, but I don't know how the injury factors into it.
  14. I think that's a good deal for Conforto if he returns healthy. But the question becomes his lefty bat and the numerous lefty bats already in the OF. But I guess they could deal away from the excess LHH OFs to try to address a weakness.
  15. Interesting. Are you answering for MCS now?
  16. Agree. I think I'd add Bassitt to the wish list, although I understand concern about his age and maybe the fact that he's only been around/above 150 IP in 3 seasons.
  17. The silent response is deafening, isn't it?
  18. Sorry, but this post cannot be taken seriously without some capitalization or cursing or mocking or ellipses.
  19. And somehow get them to take Soto in the deal? Merry Christmas to me.
  20. It was mentioned on MLB radio this morning that the Mets' tax bill at the end of 2023 (assuming no other moves which, ok) would be ~ $111M.
  21. Relegation is a poor concept from the standpoint that the arrangement of teams and possible resulting of current season playoff berths are based on previous season(s) results. Applying it to baseball would be completely asinine.
  22. It is kind of crazy how it appears to all go so quickly like that. So, there is the timeline that is public, but there is also the timeline of communications that isn't public. Those details and exactly who spoke to whom among all parties would make for a fine story.
  23. As was mentioned above, this is where Harris might take some risk (in the form of excess Met salary) along with some prospects. McCann would be one piece that the Tigers have a roster opening for. Looking over the rest of the Met 40, they seem to be heavy in pitchers. But one other interesting salary that might be of interest is RHH OF/1B Mark Canha ($11.5M in 2023 with a $11.5M team option or $2M buyout for 2024). Moving Canha could be helpful to both clubs.
  24. To me it depends upon what comes along with him.
  25. Detroit Pistons vs Philadelphia 76ers
