  1. I’m still hungover from trading Soto away.
  2. Oh, I wanted Soto gone, too. I see no use for pitchers that walk as many batters as he and Cisnero do. Maybe I’m wrong, but I prefer Tiger pitchers get outs rather than allow free passes.
  3. For the record, I advised cutting Cisnero in October. Unfortunately, Harris missed my post.
  4. I was busy then. Just catching up now.
  5. I had forgotten about the pitch clock this season.
  6. Well, yeah, he’s not pitching right now, so….
  7. He’s had proven lack of success, too. Hey, if he were on the other side of 30, it’s more understandable to me to keep him.
  8. And Patrick Beverley.
  9. Given his age and history and given the amount of waiver wire churn that Harris has created, I’m not sure how Cisnero warrants a guaranteed roster spot. It’s baffling, especially considering Harris’ stated desire to dominate the strike zone, which Cisnero’s walk rates kind of don’t line up with.
  10. Rubber arm? He’s strictly a one inning per outing pitcher as evidenced by his statistical history. He’s pitched 61 innings in 2021 and 25 innings in 2022. This hardly a measure of durability and/or stamina.
  11. I fail to see how he’s decent. Edit to add: He is good at keeping the ball in the yard, and I would expect the same despite the dimension changes. So that is a credit to him.
  12. Have you seen the waiver acquisitions? There’s no reason to lock in Cisnero. Fetter has been pretty good at squeezing value out of relievers. If he cant get someone to avoid walks since he’s been the pitching coach (Soto as a prime example), then there’s really no reason to keep that pitcher. I suppose in defense of Soto, he didn’t pitch many innings last season. But that also hardly serves as an excuse to keep him.
  13. It’s kind of like voting for the MVP and Cy Young. Short gets the MIP and Cisnerohs gets the pitching equivalent. MIPL for the Most Irrelevant PLayer and MIPI for Most Irrelevant PItcher?
  14. Cisnero is Spanish for “base on balls” and he gives up many much of those, so pluralize Cisnero to Cisneros?
  15. Cisnero gave up more walks (19) than hits (15) last season. That’s kind of fun, right? In fact, walks are his thing. He walks about 12% of the hitters he faces (18% last season) against a league average of 8%. So he walks 50% more batters than league average. He strikes out 23% of hitters vs the MLB average of 21%. This is a curious retention given what Harris has said about owning the strike zone. It doesn’t really make much sense at all. And I suspect the .242 BABIP from last season was due to hitters being too stunned at strikes to get swings on the pitch. It’s just a theory. Probably wrong.
  16. New Orleans Pelicans vs Detroit Pistons
  17. James McCann leads th.... nah, now I've gone too far.
  18. Is Steven Moya ready to make his return to Detroit?
  19. Get better hitters.
  20. He's the current head coach in Portland.
  21. I agree that I think there is a high degree of homerism here.
  22. I meant to take the over. Gosh, I wasn't even drunk when typing that out.
  23. I took a look back at the drafts. I may be underestimating the Pistons’ success.
  24. Yes, I think he’s done pretty well with draft picks and carving out roster/salary flexibility. It hasn’t been perfect, but on the whole it’s progressed in the right direction to build from within. Got anyone in mind to replace Casey?
