  1. I don’t know about you morans, but I’d be aight if none of those 7 were with the club starting next season.
  2. Give it to Michigan. I’ve heard they’re champions of the west.
  3. Neither seem like a fit despite their offense being welcomed. I think its reasonable to assume both Bell and Abreu are going to get multiseason deals. Torkelson is the 1Bman of the future. They have Cabrera on the books next season as the DH, although its highly questionable how much he plays. So, 1B & DH are probably kind of filled for next season unless Harris has Torkelson at Toledo to start the season and/or he's ready to move on from Cabrera. Now, who knows, maybe Harris decides to strip the place down to the foundation and completely overhaul things. Maybe he has no problem writing off Cabrera's contract and he can convince Ilitch of it. Harris has no prior allegiance to Cabrera, so that's possible if not likely. Maybe he thinks he can move Torkelson's prospect status to another team that isn't shaken by a poor rookie campaign. Seems highly doubtful, but you never know. Here's what we know about Harris. We know what he's said in his pressers, we know what team's he's been associated with and what those teams did. We don't know how much of that translates exactly into what he sees and what he can accomplish this offseason. The unknown is a major factor for the Tigers this offseason, and I think that makes things pretty interesting. Now maybe this offseason becomes less about player acquisition and more about getting the front office, specifically evaluation and development systems, into what he wants it to be. There have been some of those moves already. So, that might make for what fans consider a lackluster offseason, but I don't think it would necessarily be a wasted offseason.
  4. Boston Celtics vs Detroit Pistons
  5. Just going back to this, it seems a missed opportunity to go to an alt red jersey which I thought there was some support for. Maybe I'm projecting my own opinion, maybe that was a popular sentiment around this forum, but I thought the reds last year were well accepted (teal and electric bolt aside). The storyline of St. Cecelia's and NBA players going there is cool. I don't know if the green is related to that or not. If so, they could have probably tied that into the Pistons' primary blue & red in some other way.
  6. I saw that. So, the top 50 free agents, and 4 guys picking where those 50 go, so the math is 200 possibilities. An even distribution among the 30 teams would 6 or 7 players? That's about what these 4 encompass players for the guesses that include the Tigers. I understand the desire for starters, so OK, those guys make sense. Profar is questionable. He doesn't necessarily hit LHPs (or RHPs for that matter) well, which is one of the things Harris mentioned. His recent and career SO% and BB% are favorable to MLB averages, but exit velocity and hard hit rates are not. He had been used around the field earlier in his career, but he was solely a LF last season. OK, story time on Taillon. We were at this game that Taillon pitched and he took a line drive off of his nugget that landed in LF. After a few moments channeling his inner Doug Fister, he convinced the Pirates that he was fine, and he stayed in the game. I'd probably still be weeping in a fetal position on the ground if that were me. We were in the RF stands where they cut around RCF. We had a perfect view of Harrion's triple to CF and of the relay throw to 3B being airmailed into the dugout to score him.
  7. You forget to add "former".
  8. Its spelled ethic$, Jaylen.
  9. Some of those are really sharp. I really like the Titans, Saints, Cowboys, and Buccaneers.
  10. 4 other undefeateds is only a problem if there are 5 undefeateds. It is possible, but it has also never happened. Heck, I don't think there's been a playoff quartet with 0 losses among them going into the playoffs nor have there been 4 undefeated teams heading into bowl season (rolling in the non power 5 conferences) since the advent of the playoffs. This year there are 4. It is guaranteed to go down to 3 (UoM at OSU). So now there's going to be the debate over which "imperfect" team(s) gets into the playoffs, as there always is. Just looking at OSU & UoM, I know which schedule has a better chance at the playoffs as a 1 loss team as opposed to the other team if it had 1 loss.
  11. Plus those physical tickets can turn into keepsakes for people.
  12. Those are good matchups. Honestly, as a fan, aren't you more interested in seeing those games rather than vs Hawaii? Aren't those types of matchups more appropriate as a measuring stick for what Michigan thinks it is? The unfortunate thing with Texas & Oklahoma as future opponents is that they could end up being scrapped out of necessity due to the realignment of the B10 and SEC. Ohio State has both Texas & Oklahoma as future opponents, too, so I've had that in the back of my mind given the shifting that has been announced.
  13. 66-96. Break it up into smithereens.
  14. Detroit Pistons vs New York Knicks
  15. The fact that they chanced losing him….. and didn’t.
  16. So even if he’s just another Castro, that’s still good for us. It’s someone that we will complain about, but at least it’s someone new to complain about. That little bit of a change, the honeymoon phase at first, that will take a bit of the anguish off for a period of time.
  17. Division I needs to stop scheduling these games against division II schools. OSU has Youngstown State on the docket next year. An utter and complete joke.
  18. 60 over a junk school is probably the same as 40. At some point, there are diminishing returns. 60 over a junk team vs 20 over a mid tier team? Look, I just don’t see what’s so impressive about beating down inferior talent. It does nothing for me. Why hide and duck and dive from quality opposition if you think you’re a playoff team? The Big Ten schedule isn’t such a tough gauntlet that scheduling (and keeping said scheduled game) UCLA or Oregon or Notre Dame or someone of that ilk should be out of the question. Let’s call it what it is. That Michigan out of conference this season and next is simply embarrassing and gutless.
  19. So, OK, so a win over a bottom of the barrel Hawaii carries the same weight as a win over a middle of the conference Minnesota, score being equal, place of game being equal, teams at full strength, etc? Come on, you really don't believe this, do you?
  20. Its officially a rebuild.
