  1. Its asinine to suggest he isn't blocking anyone. Anyone that can play adequate defense at any position on the field and adequately hit a baseball is currently a better baseball player than Cabrera. I'm sorry to rock the feels of those pine for seeing Cabrera for just one more season, but just he's not a MLB quality player anymore.
  2. That first quarter scoring had a bit of an all star game feel to it.
  3. The merits may not change, but the emphasis of what merits matter seem to change at times. The lack of a rigid objective check off list allows them to do whatever they want to for whatever reason they want to.
  4. Cincinnati would probably be the best stocked program to find sustainable success. But I would think South Florida would give him ample access to more athletes and enough of a blank slate for him to put his imprint upon. In five years, if he has success, he can rightfully say, "see, I built this", whereas Cincinnati is kind of coming off of its historical zenith.
  5. And razor thin wins over Texas and Texas A&M. Oh, but that shut out of Austin Peay, I can see why that stands out.
  6. The St Cecilia’s jerseys are kind of appropriate tonight given how it looks like a bad pickup game at times.
  7. We already knew that.
  8. Not sure what’s uglier, Clyde Frazier’s ensemble or the Pistons’ play.
  9. We already knew that.
  10. You bring up a good point with the tenuousness of Kansas State and Utah possibly losing the championship game and a bid to the playoffs. I don’t recall that being brought up before.
  11. It’s completely asinine to have Alabama above USC right now. It just proves you really don’t know of what you speak here.
  12. Luckily for you he has been getting more proficient at striking out over the past few seasons.
  13. I don’t know. If it’s a close & late loss, that’s 2 close & late losses on road/neutral vs 1 convincing loss at home. And along the lines of what @buddha said about a loss, sure it’s another loss and in a game that OSU didn’t play. The losses have been addressed. Now look at the wins, which are even. There’s a common opponent, which USC should get the nod over OSU because of the way the game played out. Honestly, I don’t know about the rest of the schedules. OSU peat Penn State. USC beat UCLA. That’s about what I know off of the top of my head. The USC fan is finding excuses to keep USC out if USC loses and the OSU fan is finding excuses to keep OSU out if USC loses. That’s whack, yo.
  14. I guess another way to look at it is, what does USC need to do to play itself out of the playoffs? Can they lose on Friday, and if so, what is the threshold of that margin or quality of play during the game? Well, OK, and then I suppose if USC does win, there's a question of seeding based on Saturday's results.
  15. At the same time, UoM was working without Corum at OSU, so there's that if they are really digging deeply into scenarios of each game.
  16. So the 4 teams should be known as of late Friday night, early Saturday morning, right? USC wins and they're in at 4. USC loses and maybe there's a bit of a debate. But USC's previous loss wasn't atrocious and their common win over Notre Dame is better in comparison vs Ohio State, so they've got those bullet points in their favor. Georgia, Michigan, and TCU are in regardless of reasonable outcomes in their respective championship games. Its possible that they lose or look poor in a win, but they're in regardless. From there its just a matter of who matches up with whom, and which game is at what time. There cannot be any other way to look at it, can there? Or am I overestimating the committee?
  17. No one really believes that? You missed some posts around here during the 2022 season. I don't believe the theory, but there are others that did/do. I agree with you, there's zero positive to him being part of 2023's roster. It's a wasted space. There isn't enough offense from a part time DH to justify him chasing personal milestones. Who cares at this point, he's a 1st ballot hall of famer if he retires now. Instead he's just a millstone on the 2023 roster.
  18. Oh joy. It was mentioned here this past season that he's still a draw to the ballpark. I guess we can expect attendance figures in 2023 to reflect that, eh?
  19. Sort of. I don't think people expected this kind of game while missing 4 of 5 starters.
  20. New York Knicks vs Detroit Pistons
  21. He’s a Browns’ fan now because they’re a clean operation.
  22. Isn’t PJ Fleck about due to row his boat to a new locale?
  23. Henderson was out and Williams has been oft hurt. Trayanum was productive, especially considering he had all of 1 carry heading into the game. Hayden, …. did I miss where he was injured, or did he just leave? He’d been 3rd string and gotten plenty of work with the injuries to Henderson and Williams. I think Day ignored the running too much in the 2nd half and those calls to punt were coaching to not lose rather than coaching to win. Credit to Michigan for keeping the passing game in front of them. There were some plays where Stroud had plenty of time to throw, but Michigan’s coverage was up to the task. And as was discussed where we were, since Stroud isn’t a threat to run, there was nothing there to force Michigan to keep a spy on him and reduce either the rush or the coverage.
  24. See, and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse than 2002, they lost 119 in 2003.
  25. I couldn’t believe it either. That team played like crap yesterday. The coaching was absolute crap yesterday. Are we sure John Cooper wasn’t running the show yesterday? I’m not saying Ohio State should/would have won the game with a better showing, but it’d have been nice to look coherent.
