  1. What an awful exercise of futility. Are you still in Tennessee? Go get some fresh air. Do not feed the bears.
  2. I tend to agree as of now. He's had a truly amazingly awful season and the plate and in the field. He's at $5.8M this season. I think they current organization will stick with him and assume he bounces back next season (and at some point this season).
  3. I guess you could also wonder if the opposition sees the Tigers and decides its a good time to rest some regulars. But, hey, they bench guys gotta eat, too.
  4. Hmmm...... Sounds like a challenge that might be of interest to watch.
  5. The thing is, the pitching side of the equation hasn't been the issue. Its mind boggling how the random fill in pitching staff combined with sometimes craptastic defense has kept the Tigers at 4.40 runs allowed per game versus an MLB average of 4.33.
  6. I had something slightly different, but it could be rounding.
  7. I thought the players' union was against buy outs?
  8. Stat of the day: The Tigers leaders in innings pitched are: Tarik Skubal 117 2/3 Beau Brieske, 81 2/3 Drew Hutchison, 55 2/3 Alex Faedo, 53 1/3 Rony Garcia, 51 Bonus stat of the day: Hutchison is the only of the 5 that is not currently on the IL. Enjoy your day, morans.
  9. I said it in the game thread regarding Cabrera's knee and the games off that he will get while remaining on the active roster and I'll repeat it here: Why not just put Cabrera on the IL? His only purpose is to hit and he doesn't do that well enough to hold a roster spot for him if he's physically unavailable. I understand there aren't many bats on the 40 to call up to replace him, but they're limiting their bench opportunities. This is a chance to bring someone up and give them a look to determine if they're worthy of consideration for 2023. Its completely asinine and irresponsible roster management.

  11. Tampa Bay Rays (56-49) at Detroit Tigers (42-65)
  12. I wonder if they’ve considered trying CastroW at SS?
  13. What else ya gonna do?
  14. Thank you for clarifying.
  15. Happy 29th birthday to Robin Ventura’s migraines.
  16. His bat has been causing the Tigers pain for a few years now.
  17. Well, it’s time for him to retire, and if this team doesn’t improve, next season is going to be awful. Why would a player at the end put themselves through that? He’s got salary, a ring, and accolades.
  18. Notre Dame has to bring in lights, correct? So, maybe they get one or two games at home. A few more night games on the road, especially the trips west to USC and Stanford.
  19. If he’s going to retire after this season, they should’of traded him.
  20. Stat of the day: Cabrera's highest season SLG is .636. This season is .336, darn near half of the summit.
  21. Why retire? Home run number 507 is right around the corner.
  22. Hearing a rumor that NBC is considering adding Saturday prime time college football to its lineup. Maybe not necessarily for Notre Dame on Saturday nights, but could this be a Big Ten game which Notre Dame would be a part of?
