  1. I’m not sure why I never really liked the Lions, when I’ve been a fan of the Tigers and Pistons. Divine intervention?
  2. They won 2014 World Series after 88 regular season games, yet didn’t even qualify for the playoffs with 103 wins in 1993.
  3. I overheard a Cleveland Browns fan saying that it must be difficult to be a Detroit Lions fan. Uh, hello, factory of sadness wasn’t exactly a stretch.
  4. Regardless if there really is interest by Detroit, I’m sure Correa’s camp will use Detroit as leverage for a contract. It is kind of interesting how we’ve heard of the Houston connection without rehashing how the fallout from the trash cans all went down. I prefer to pass on Correa. He’s not a guy I want to root for.
  5. My guess is it is probably in Boyd’s best interest to rehab with an organization that he is comfortable with. Maybe it makes sense to agree on a one year contract with a one year vesting/mutual option?
  6. I think at this point, Boyd should be considered outside of the top 5 rotation slots simply because of health. Alexander can compete for the rotation, I think he’s earned that much. But I agree that they’ll need two quality free agent starting pitchers. I’m looking at Mize and Skubal in the rotation on Opening Day. I’m not confident in Manning yet, but I think it’s safe to assume the Tigers consider him a part of the rotation. After that, they need the quality major league arms and they’ll need some depth signings to go along with Alexander (could be a multi inning reliever if not in the rotation), Boyd (rehabbing if he returns), and Wentz (Toledo). Another Peralta type minor league signing or two would be wonderful, although easier said than done.
  7. If they play hard & entertaining and continue to develop a core, missing the playoffs for another chance in the lottery would be dandy.
  8. Its crazy (to me) to think the first exhibition game is Wednesday.
  9. I disagree, I think the money matters as well as years, maybe to different degrees depending upon the player. I'm thinking of it in terms of opportunity cost. A player at 4/60 gives the Tigers a chance at filling other holes at 4/60 as opposed to just going with the same player at 4/120.
  10. Are there any other free agent pitchers besides Scherzer and Verlander?
  11. "Oh, look Karen, its the guy from MTS with the perfect lawn."
  12. I think I’m going to tune into the Brewers’ radio for Uecker.
  13. Leyland trotting out the Sunday lineup today.
  14. Its better looking than my post.
  15. MLB has scheduled the last day for all of MLB at the same time (3pm EDT) on purpose so as not to give any contending team a scheduled time edge over another going into the last game. I think they've done this for a couple of years.
  16. The question is not about Cabrera's roster spot over the next two seasons. The question is when does he get lowered in the lineup?
  17. Crud, this is it, isn't it? Been a fun season despite the futility at the beginning month and ending week.
  18. Yes, "on your left" is the preferred call out here on these trails here. There is a short stretch of bridged path over a ravine that is shared with horses. The metropark has signage about horses having the right of way, bikes need to wait. Unfortunately, unlike most dog walkers, the humans with horses seemed to have forgotten their baggies.
  19. I'm fortunate enough to have a rails to trails bike trail going right through the hood with plenty of mileage at my disposal. Its pretty rare that I'm on a road, but if I am, I am right along the edge line of the road headed into traffic. I'd rather have the vehicles that I'm sharing the lane with in my line of sight so that I know what I need to do.
  20. There's hope for you after all..... 😆
  21. Add in the NL West is up for grabs still. The Giants (hosting Padres) are up 1 over the Dodgers (hosting Brewers) headed into the final day.
  22. Cabrera will finish 2nd in MVP voting to Victor Reyes. Twice. Cabrera will be a Tiger through 2025. Book it.
  23. I've noticed a couple of blue jays have returned to the yard this week. I'm calling Toronto in the AL. I had a beer last night whilst watching the Tigers. I'm calling the Brewers in the NL. Be bold, morans, be bold.
  24. What more evidence are you looking for? Just extended consistency on their current numbers at AAA? I know there's been some chatter about Greene's BBs & SOs.
  25. I don't like the defense that comes with that trio and Cabrera remains the DH next season. I suppose there's a line of thinking that 2022 is the last season for Cabrera, the Tigers can afford one of those gloves in the OF for next season before moving them to DH. I don't know. In a perfect world, I'd like to see the DH alternately filled by a regular position player to get them off of their feet defensively for a semi rest day. Maybe that's too much to ask in this day and age, but I think if a team goes with only 13 position players, it can help with rest & recovery throughout a season.
