I like OPS and WHIP because the average fan (me) can easily calculate them, and understand what they mean. I'm sure the other ones are great too but probably won't lead very often to different conclusions than you might get from those 2 simple stats. I never paid any attention to WAR after that time that Ben Zobrist was the best player in the league.

Wenceel's OPS at Erie last year was .914. This year it's .711.

Yes a guy like Lipcius who is 25 is probably as polished as he is going to get...bring him up, with low expectations. And Dingler is going to be 25 in September - get him to Toledo, now, with low expectations.

I would not be surprised at 350 PA's if he continues to show a pulse. What I really want though is Rogers behind the plate 5 days a week, I've had more than enough of the job sharing. He's a solid defender who will hit 25 home runs, I think that that is the "settled science" now. See what you can get for Haase, not much, and bring up Sands to catch twice a week. And then for God's sake move Dingler to Toledo, he's going to be living in a seniors' residence and still playing for Erie.
