    By the way, Baddoo is wearing 24 at Toledo. It looks good on him. At the moment it is occupied on the Tigers. Will they retire it? Probably. But Baddoo needs to ditch that offensive guard number.

    Lipcius' 2022 is looking like an outlier. He's been a low .700's OPS guy every year except that one.

    And let's decide, right now, whether Keith plays 3B or 2B, and then play him there full time. Sometimes this whole positional versatility thing gets a bit absurd. These guys are not Tony Phillips. Don't we have anyone who can assess Keith's suitability for one position over the other? What does Trammell do for a living?

    He was just tremendous, getting on base, scoring a million runs, playing all over the field. And at the first sign of confrontation he would flip his wig. I loved Tony Phillips, and he had sort of a little brother in Skeeter Barnes...2 guys that provided a lot of flexibility.

    You could try Malloy for some OBP and power but I don't want to see him in the short end of a platoon.

    Carpenter, McKinstry and Rogers need to have their roles expanded instead of sharing with Ibanez, Schoop and Haase. Platooning makes no sense at all if it means automatically giving playing time to players who consistently fail.

    I agree and I hope he stays in Toledo and plays every day. I don't want him platooned in Detroit. Malloy even more so.

    I'd like to write a player down for 20 games and not automatically default to a platoon. If Carpenter has 2 hits including a home run, and a lefthanded pitcher comes in, I'd like to leave Carpenter in the game and not see Haase pinch hit for him. So I don't think anybody gets 150 games guaranteed but I would like to see roles expanded for people who are having success.

    I'm not seeing a whole bunch of successful platoons.

    Vierling and McKinstry appear to be the two best baseball players on the team right now, without Greene. I'd like to see them both make a serious dent into infield playing time in the second half. And I'm not looking for more platooners, I want to find a guy to play 150 games at second and another to do the same at third. They probably are not the guys but let's have a look.

    I'd like to see 225 PA's in the second half, that would get him to about 400.

    Rogers' lack of recognition stems from lack of playing time. He has 172 PA's; Torkelson has 349.

    I agree, I will take that group of guys over the guys that Harris got rid of, all day.

    Yeah he is going to get lots and lots of rope, at least 2 years' worth. It's like in football, the new GM never cuts his own draft picks, he cuts guys that his predecessor chose.
