  1. Well that's interesting, eagerly anticipating more details.
  2. Look at his arms, it's before he started lifting weights. He totally changed his body, and his career.
  3. That's some nice power from Malloy in 83 games. His previous career high, at lower levels, is 17 for a full season. He's playing like a guy who hits 25 homers and draws 100 walks. I've noticed him for a few outfield assists lately, I know that sometimes those can be like hockey assists, but a LF who throws a runner out at second probably made a good play. And, he's 23.
  4. To us it looks that way but even last year some of the national talking heads were saying he is destined for LF. I just wish that the organization would make a decision...is he a 2B, or a 3B? And then whatever the decision is, put him there and leave him there. Is there anyone in the organization who can make that definitive assessment? What does Trammell do for a living?
  5. 22 pitch inning, still doesn't have the third out. This is his last batter.
  6. 9 pitch walk to Suarez ends the CG fantasy.
  7. 74 pitches through 6 innings. That on pace for a 110 pitch CG. Never happen.
  8. Carpenter has 17 HRs in 262 ABs. That's JD Martinez territory. Next year, without Cabrera, I am penciling him in for 600 PAs. He's only 25.
  9. Lorenzen gets through 5 on 61 pitches. Time to start fantasizing about the CG, which will never happen of course.
  10. I never heard a good explanation for that, reporters back then didn't ask him the tough questions. It is hard enough to use your regular 4 man rotation in a short series, why use a spot starter? I'm no big Jerry Ujdur fan but he was a lot better than Underwood.
  11. I remember that 1982 ALCS like is was yesterday, and that Morris-Langston duel was a classic.
  12. Lange, you're starting to piss me off, you know?
  13. Colt Keith played second base again tonight. Perhaps he will be the answer there.
  14. Baddoo heats up the outfield competition!
  15. Other than Maton I would say those are the correct players. The strongest lineup would have those other 8 guys, plus Ibanez or Short.
  16. 85 rarity is pretty darned good.
  17. I forget how many balls Jim Bibby could hold at once, I think it was 4.
  18. You're goddam right I did!
  19. He was the second coming of Alex Steele.
  20. There is a guy at our school who reads Breitbart, and prints hard copies and leaves them for me to read.
  21. It's all pretty nauseating.
  22. He was one of the original 16-bit players.
  23. I never heard of any of these guys before they were drafted, just like every other year, but I think we have all noticed a definite change in the approach to position players. You have to have the hit tool, not just power, and you have to have the potential to play a higher value defensive position. And all the HS players seem to indicate a reinforcement of the huge importance of in-person evaluation, which a lot of fans seem to turn their noses up at now that statistical measurements are so much more advanced. So I didn't read a any profiles, like Jace Jung's, that suggested that there might not be a logical position for him. What an eye-roller that was. Top 5 draft day eye-roller, but the creme-de-la-creme is still Cade Gaspar. The first 2 words of his profile were "Not overpowering".
