Not to get too nitpicky but Juan Encarnacion, Gabe Kapler and Mike Drumright were all here before Randy Smith was. The list of "exciting" prospects that Randy Smith acquired begins and ends with Eric Munson.
I agree that Schoop's AB's are wasted, but I'm not ready to kick Nevin to the curb yet. And yes, service time is always a poor reason when deciding whom to put on the 26.
Guys like Parker and Winfield, and Ellis Valentine, got lots of love as defensive right fielders but for me Evans was the best of all of them. That, and a serious power bat, and a long career, should have gotten more Hall consideration than it did.
I don't know this for a fact but I suspect that the author of Mein Kampf usually paid his bills on time and did not cause heartache and suffering for literally thousands of people whom he stiffed, in everyday occupations like self-employed caterers, maintenance contractors, and florists.
Intriguing thought. Whom do we have that we could feature in a brawl, remembering that we once had Willie Horton who was very frightening when he lost his temper. Even better, for a year we also had Alex Johnson. According to Horton, when they were both in high school, everybody was afraid of Johnson.
So...those are big shoes to fill. Any suggestions?
